I think this woman needs her to realise her star has fallen like a lot of minor celebs. She has had a good run and everything has did was tired. New cookery blood should be allowed a chance.

I thinks it's undignified to start accusing her erstwhile employers of racism.

Nadiya Hussain launches another blistering attack on the BBC

Nadiya Hussain has launched another blistering attack on the BBC after previously claiming she'd been axed due to racism in the 'broken' TV industry.

@LoyalMember you don't want anyone to criticise the genocidal apartheid state of Israel either.
Dear oh dear...

I think you forgot who attacked whom. How very Guardian of you....

......and you revert to petty, jibes. Enjoy Nadia's show... Oh, wait....😄

She spoke up the Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. You're not allowed to speak up against the genocidal apartheid state. It's as simple as that. She was silenced like many before her.

Edited

Did she express any revulsion for what Hamas did on the 7th October 2023?

LoyalMember · 19/03/2026 17:23

I love how the demise of Nadia's 'career ' has ended up being Istael's fault...😁

Not that I can find but she did for Charlie Kirk in the days after the father of two young children was assassinated.

‘Charlie Kirk was an Islamophobe. He lived for division. Why is it that when white men die, the world mourns, but when children in Gaza die, there's silence’.

The "silence" about the children in Gaza was bloody deafening!

No wonder the BBC didn't want another show with her fronting it.

loislovesstewie · 19/03/2026 17:35

@LoyalMember ,you really must understand that Jewish people generally and Israel for that matter are responsible for everything. It does not matter what it is, when it is, or who are actually involved. For a group that numbers less than 16 million worldwide, less than .2% of the world's population that really is amazing. ( Clearly I don't believe in this nonsense, I'm saying it for the benefit of those who are hard of thinking!)

Israeli children died as well. Quite a lot of them. Do they not count, either?

I'm agreeing with you? There was categorically NO media silence about children dying in Gaza. I don't know how she could possibly suggest it.

The ones who had already died in Israel were forgotten as soon as Israel retaliated.

mids2019 · 20/03/2026 05:50

The point is when you start down the road of anti senitism with biased comments about October 7th and the consequent war(s) then you shouldn't be fronting an inclusive cookery program which should appeal to Jews as well as everyone else on the BBC. What next a birthday cake for the Ayatollah?

It's how people handle themselves after being let go. John Torode for example, left quietly, lay low for a bit and now he's back on This Morning.

Another chef on Saturday Breakfast was accused of abusing his wife, went away quietly and now pops up here and there.

Showbiz bosses are lazy and would rather stick with the same format and same people.
Nadia could have come back as a presenter for something else, but she's burning her bridges.

May be wrong, but I didn't see her do much else outside of her show. Seems she saw it as a job for life and wasn't bothered to diversify.

Unless you're Nigella where you are loaded and don't need to work, you have to keep at it.

Gatekeeping an opportunity/job is the height of entitlement and greed.

The BBC should have just said they wanted to give another Bake Off winner the job. Can't please some people.

FancyKeyboard · 20/03/2026 10:18

It's very rare for presenters to be employed year round (apart from the ones at the very top) and she's had a good run. With a good chance she'd get another one later on! (Less now with all the media shenanigans)

Agreed, she really needed better PR advice (or maybe she has had and thinks she knows best?)

All these kind of shows are commissioned one series at a time so the idea of most things being ‘cancelled’ is rarely true, even very long running programmes are funded year on year.

If she’d not caused all this fuss and taken such offence she easily could’ve pitched ideas to other broadcasters but right now they’d be less likely to take her seriously and wouldn’t want the inevitable fall out if they only want one or two series from her.

Actual wow to that! Shock

As you say, no wonder the BBC didn't want to 'renew her contract!'

LoyalMember · 21/03/2026 15:05

Children dying in Gaza is the reason Nadia was dropped according to some whacky people on here..

Everybodys · 21/03/2026 15:35

The difficulty with comments on silence is that when you say nothing about all the black and brown people and Muslims murdered by Hamas, including some in Gaza, it raises the question of whether you're actually fine with some murders of people in those groups. There are ways to frame advocacy for Gazan civilians in a way that doesn't leave you open to such accusations.

My apologies if Nadia did indeed comment on this. I've checked her socials and couldn't see anything about 7th October or other Hamas atrocities.

Those whacky people you're referring to don't exist.

What people said was that one reason that the BBC might not have wanted to work with her again was that Nadiya posted linking children dying in Gaza directly to the very recent assassination of a father of two young children, saying that the silence about Gazan children dying was deafening, when the news reports about it were screaming from every media outlet in the country.

whatisforteamum · 21/03/2026 17:17

As a chef myself I found Nadia really interesting and before her Lorraine Pascale.
New ideas different presenting styles.I did get bored of her and bake off too when it became samey.
I still watch James Martin or Hugh fearnley whittingstall not because they are middle class white men because they cover a variety of soups and breads meat fish and puds I can get inspired by.
Nadiya has done really well to be on tv for ten years.
Surely she can come back in a few years with new ideas.

StillSpartacus · 21/03/2026 17:39

Wasn’t there an article or maybe a blind, about a model with a presenting gig who’d had to be sent off for urgent cooking lessons? I’m afraid I thought that was LP. I don’t think either of their shows were for serious cooks.

That might be Sophie Dahl maybe. She had a cookery show back in about 2010 - just the one series, as I recall, but they seemed to be setting her up as a successor to Nigella. It didn’t really come off though.
That’s the thing though. Very few people manage to get a consistent TV career based on cookery. Nadiya has lasted much longer than most.

StillSpartacus · 21/03/2026 18:19

Aah Ok that makes sense, actually, jemima. I feel bad now for thinking it was Lorraine for years Blush

If you want to make this accusation, I think you should at least spell her name correctly. Nadiya.
