The four-part spy drama from Mammoth Screen production is set against the backdrop of the MI5 and explores human relationship as its characters battle between loyalty and deception.

Episode 1 will air at 9pm on Sunday 8th February 2026 on ITV1 and ITVX, with the second episode to air in the same slot the following day.

The four-part series follows Evans' character John Hughes, an MI5 officer with a crumbling marriage who is tipped off about an informant who could help him take down a criminal gang in Stockport.

John Hughes a mid-career MI5 officer desperately grappling to maintain a work-life balance in a rapidly evolving intelligence landscape and a marriage that is about to implode.

The series kicks off with John meeting a British Iranian man who claims he has intelligence about a known gang in Stockport, but before he can share the information with the MI5 agent, he is executed by an assassin whom John then kills in self defence.

John is then wrongfully placed under internal investigation, facing scrutiny from his superiors, leading John to question whether the threat might be closer to home than he released.

Is he just paranoid, or is he really onto something? Well, the show is called Betrayal...

So if you've been told many times @Blondeshavemorefun that people don't like your inappropriate use of caps, why carry on doing it? Capital letters should be used sparingly and the overuse of them looks tacky when used the way you do on TV threads.

Anyway - I may give it a go and the cast is good but ITV dramas tend to be on the basic side (Protection, Coldwater, Frauds).

@Blondeshavemorefun puts the titles in caps , hoping that people will notice that no spoilers are wanted by binge watches . Some posters put spoilers in and Blondes has to go to the trouble of getting MN to delete the relevant posts.

I've not noticed PPs complaining about caps before , only in this thread .

ive asked MNHQ many times if it’s an issue and they are fine with the capitals as people know they are threads that I do.

People get annoyed with spoilers if people binge via itvx or iPlayer

I record ITV, download bbc so can watch with subtitles. I can no longer hear properly and it’s either subtitles or having to rewind every minute or so. Especially when actors mumble.
