SPOILERS BRIDGERTON SEASON 4 - Benedict’s story

I couldn’t see a thread so thought I would start one.

The first 4 episodes drop on Netflix tomorrow (29th Jan). We will then need to wait until 26th February for the other 4.

We all know it’s not a realistic period drama but it’s great escapism and I’m looking forward to binging the first 4 eps.

It was quite strung out, with more or less everything in the final episode. Worth it until the end. Albeit slightly predictable plot in parts. Also a bit rushed in the final 15 minutes or so.

Lady Mondrich was an unexpected intrigue, but I expect we will see a lot more of her in the next season. The Queen’s headpieces were stunning as always, I especially liked her heart one!

Kirschcherries · 26/02/2026 16:27

The Queen’s wigs are magnificent. I always think they must be so heavy.

Lunde · 26/02/2026 17:25

I wish they'd get a better lighting director - this series was so dark that at times I could barely see ... even when they were taking tea in the afternoon!

Can anyone remember Elouise and the boy from the book store I was hoping that would be a story

I know - I love the actor who is playing sir Philip Crane so I have very high hopes for Elouise’s season!!

SPOILERS

I thoroughly enjoyed that.

Loved the new Lady Penwood. Did not see that coming.
I laughed at the invitation for the ball. It reminded me of my friend whose wedding invitation was exactly the same. Bloody glitter everywhere.

Not sure if im super hormonal at the moment, but the Francesca scenes made me cry. Especially when she's saying to her mum, "you have 8 children, I have nothing ". Really got to me.

The chemistry between Benedict and Sophie was brilliant. Loved it all.

Even the missing mint 😁

IWantToHibernate · 26/02/2026 20:25

The Francesca scenes were very sad. Bridgerton hasn’t dealt with a big character death like that before, but of course it’s pivotal to the plot. In the book she miscarries, but the show portrayed it as she wasn’t pregnant to start with.

Also the actress who plays Kate is so stunning, she and Anthony together are just a sight to behold.

Last episode has a mid credits scene.

Where is Penelope and Colin’s baby?

Holidaying with Daphne maybe? 🤣

NCTDN · 26/02/2026 21:09

I haven’t watched the earlier series but am loving season 4.

Kirschcherries · 26/02/2026 21:10

I had to go out 3/4 of the way through part 7. Finally on part 8.

I always think roles like Araminta and Cressida must be fun to play as actors as they often get the best lines.

I agree 😁. Although, I would have been disappointed to play Araminta and not have the chance to wear lots of various coloured gowns! I understand she wore black the entire time as she was in mourning, but I guess it reflects her true character.

I would love to wear most of the dresses from Bridgerton 🥰.

Sophie crossing off the days until her period comes because she’s terrified she might be pregnant is so real.

8misskitty8 · 26/02/2026 22:01

Episode 5 and then The bath scene 😳🙈

I had the same thought, as I really struggled to see the characters etc sometimes.

Kirschcherries · 26/02/2026 22:31

I may have said this before but I do wonder if they are going to do Eloise and Francesca’s stories in the next season.

Last episode has a mid credits scene.

WHAT??? I missed that.

They showed a memorial, but I thought it was over.

Will go back and watch now

sterlingiain · 26/02/2026 23:02

Absolutely loved it, really enjoyable 😊

teambrief · 27/02/2026 05:50

Absolutely loved it. Costumes and sets were beautiful. I was going to leave episode 8 until today but kept going so I am knackered this morning. I did find the scenes at the ball where they confronted Araminta very fast so I am going to watch the final episode again.

I thought the the mid credit scene as well done. I did cry and laugh in the scenes with the Queen and lady Danbury. Who do you think is the new Whistledown?

Varley, judging by the accent

I thought Varley too, since they kept going on about her being a good source of gossip, and Queen missing out on life by ignoring the lower classes.

SPOILERS

I really enjoyed it - very romantic! I’m glad Benedict and Sophie had so many scenes together. I thought it was written very thoughtfully - it was obviously setting up for Francesca for the future, but the way death helps to change Violet’s feelings about Benedict and Sophie, and the remembrance party also re-energises Benedict - I thought that was lovely. I also liked how the whole season seemed to change Eloise’s view on marriage. I’d quite like her story to be next.

Mum2838 · 27/02/2026 13:53

The recital was so cute and funny too with all the younger generation - poor Hyacinth and her lemonade. 😂 And I loved how eligible suitors seemed to multiply every time the camera came back to Eloise. 🤣
