I couldn’t see a thread so thought I would start one.

The first 4 episodes drop on Netflix tomorrow (29th Jan). We will then need to wait until 26th February for the other 4.

We all know it’s not a realistic period drama but it’s great escapism and I’m looking forward to binging the first 4 eps.

I've been really discombobulated by the fact that Sophie left that country house with NO LUGGAGE. How did she clean her teeth etc? And also, she still has that silver glove. I did feel relieved when her trunks were finally delivered to the Bridgerton residence and hoped that when Benedict entered Sophie's room, that he'd find the glove. Alas, it was not to be. How long is it going to take??

Did people clean their teeth in those those times? People’s of Sophie’s class probably just wiped them with a rag.

I also wondered this - if the actress had indicated that she wasn't going to do all of the seasons then it would make sense to bring in the replacement who is not in the book in good enough time to make it a seamless story line. It will be gutting if this is the case though as I absolutely adore Lady Danbury.

In Georgette Heyer's immaculately researched Regency romances, eloping couples were always needing to stop and buy toothbrushes. I can think of any least three times his happened.

The end of episode 5! fans self a bit much for 9am on a Thursday morning!

I’m home with a coffee and the sofa. I need to change all the beds and do loads of cleaning so might do half hour watching, half hour cleaning to try and get through it.

Sat down to binge watch it today. I liked episodes 1 and 2, my interest was fading by episode 3 as it was all getting a bit silly and then by episode 4 I had mentally switched off completely.

Even Anthony and Kate’s return was a complete let-down.

The only good things about this series was Francesca and Violet, as well as the occasional appearance put in by Lady Danbury.

Otherwise the series is a big thumbs down for me ☹️

I quite liked this series. The wicked stepmother character was fun but my favourite is Mrs Featherington, she;s just so awful. And who's the new Lady Whistledown?

Watched them, loved it.

No spoilers yet but all I can say for those of you who were bothered by the coin purse and wet horses is: WHAT ABOUT THE MINT?

I have watched them all. I did like it but I felt this story was more ‘dragged out’ than in previous series. Perhaps because the focus did go off Ben and Sophie at times.

My thoughts:

I do not understand Violet’s decision to refuse Lord Anderson.

Surely the new Lord Penwood would realise Sophie is not the daughter of the previous Earl’s cousin?

Daphne not showing up for John’s funeral is odd. Same for Anthony not being there. Assume the latter was due to filming schedules as he was there at other times.

I think Lady Mondrich could be the new Lady Whistledown.

I think Eloise’s story will be next.

I’m on episode 2. I love who the new Lady Penwood is!

I think how they are showing the impact on Pen of Whistledown’s identity becoming known is well done.
