Can’t see a thread. Anyone watching?

OP posts:
EverardDeTroyes · 26/01/2026 21:50

Sorry, what is the spoiler policy? I didn't join in with the UK thread. I assumed, since 4 episodes are on iplayer we can discuss those? Happy to follow policy if you explain what it is.

All the players appear on Uncloaked eventually, its not a spoiler to acknowledge this (plus Uncloaked doesn’t seem to be available on iplayer). I was quite careful not to give away when he appears.

You bloody said eventually!!! Meaning not this week

I'm watching it as I needed more Traitors after our UK finale last Friday. I am usually 100% behind the traitors but my goodness, I can't warm to any of these traitors. Eamonn comes across as psychotic. I wouldn't want to be stopped for a minor traffic infringement by him! He actually scares me. Paudie comes across as completely out of his depth, no strategy to speak of (I've only watched the first 4 episodes) and Katelyn is over playing her hand and just not that likeable either. Come on Faithfuls! I actually can't wait for a Traitor (or three) to be exposed.

If you like this checkout Squid Game Challenge. It is made by the same production company as Traitors.

rockandscroll · 26/01/2026 22:05

I've only seen the first one, Im enjoying so far, I don't find it lacking compared with the UK version, just different.

Scotland!!?? 😁

Sorry yes, to the castle, point still stands though, shitty way to treat people.

Have you seen the traitors before this series? It's harsh... 🤷‍♀️

Remember when they all had to line up at the beginning in order if who would do the best?

ShowDownTime · 27/01/2026 08:49

Can people who have watched this series when it was aired in Ireland refrain from commenting? It’s too easy to let things slip. Is it ok for the is thread to be for viewers watching on BBC IPlayer? Which is going to be two episodes every Monday.

The comment about Paudie being a national treasure is a spoiler as it suggests he’s not banished early. And the reference to someone in their “eventual appearance on Uncloaked” is also a spoiler although I know you thought it wasn’t 🙏

Do you normally overreact to the rules of gameshows?

I mean, that's the Traitors. In UK seasons, people have been sent home from the train, and before they even went inside the castle. If this tugs at your heartstrings, maybe it's not the TV show for you?

CharlotteRumpling · 27/01/2026 08:52

I haven't watched the original airing. Is it ok to comment on the 4 episodes already up on iplayer or do I have to wait?

ShowDownTime · 27/01/2026 09:49

I personally think anything available on IPlayer is fair game, just not anything people have seen on RTE when it was first broadcast. If you haven’t caught up on the IPlayer episodes it’s better not to read the thread. That’s my approach anyway.

Yes, this is what I think, but happy to be told different. Sometimes people can't catch up in time. Maybe I will wait till end of this week for the two recent iplayer episodes?

Burnout50 · 27/01/2026 10:43

No spoilers, but i watched it when it was on RTE. it was my first intro to traitors. I loved it. And since, I have seen 3 uk ones, the UK celebrity one and 2 Australian ones.
Maybe it's a slow start but I think you'll say at the end it's a good one.

Agree

can we put a spoiler up in the title?

and then say we are discussing episodes as they become available on iPlayer

Fruitpastelsyum · 26/01/2026 19:42

You said “eventually” meaning he’s not out (like we all hoped) soon

All the players are out eventually which is why I chose the term. “Soon” is meaningless when its a show that aired last year.

I don’t know why you don’t just say sorry you didn’t realise rather than keep talking your way round it

eventually In this context means not this week and prob not next and
near the end

Peridot1 · 27/01/2026 13:22

We are watching it and enjoying it. Wanted to see it when it was on last year but am in UK although am Irish.

Last time I was at Slane Castle I was watching Queen play!

Quite liking Siobhan as presenter. Paudie is out of his depth I think. Not keen on Eamon.

Agree eamon

Im hoping Paudi will
show some wisdom
at some point

Proccy · 27/01/2026 13:28

Good so far, and the contestants are allowed to swear - and boy can the Irish swear 🤣🤣

What struck me was the laudable absence of tears and people swearing on their mother's lives that they're a faithful. Irish people have more cop on.

notacooldad · 27/01/2026 13:42

Siobhan's wardrobe is gorgeous!
Im not keen at all.

Im not keen her presenting style either. Claudia has a hint of menace with humour and she gets excited for tbe contestants. Siobhan is keeping up a battle axe persona and being withering about the contestants.
Out of all the Traitors Ive watched Claudia is my favourite with Roger Corser being my 2nd favourite.
I really didn't like Alan Cummings as the host, although I do like him in films.

Paudie is a national treasure.
Why?

honeyrider · 27/01/2026 14:00

A lot of people could see their Dad in Paudie, I think that's why he was liked.

maudelovesharold · 27/01/2026 14:12

Davros · 26/01/2026 14:14

If you haven’t seen much of her, it’s worth digging out Holding which was on ITV, it’s the dramatisation of Graham Norton’s book. She was great in that. Also Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue which was shown on BBC. And, of course, she presents the Pottery Throwdown although I don’t really like the “comedy” presenter trope.

She’s also one of the main characters (Della Fry) in Amandaland!

Rictasmorticia · 27/01/2026 18:28

I am up to episode 4. I hope Pauldie goes, he behaves like a spoilt child. When he watches it back he wont see anything wrong in his behaviour.

PinterandPirandello · 27/01/2026 21:55

Seen the 4 episodes. Not keen at all on Eamon, gives me the creeps. Katelyn made a big slip up regarding the mission and Paudie’s a loose cannon so I can see why the other traitors want to get rid of him. Faithful are making the classic mistake of following the herd but seem to be suspicious of all the traitors sooner than usual.

I quite like this series but agree that Siobhan doesn’t quite hit the mark but that might be because we’re all used to Claudia. I like Alan Cummings and Roger Corsair too.

Where can we watch the Australia Traitors?

The Australian one is on iPlayer too

I agree with all your summary - yes lots of suspicion

they all seem very squashed round the table

yeah I don’t like the presenter - she’s being too mystic for me
