This thread is called “traitors Ireland”

Yeah ta for the thread as I said I’m watching Aus, that’s because I hadn’t known about the Ireland one.

I love the dogs.

Irish wolfhounds!

It's an Irish TV show produced in Ireland, she's never presented anything in Ireland don't think they recruited her based on what a UK audience would think on the off chance it got shown on the BBC.....

If you haven’t seen much of her, it’s worth digging out Holding which was on ITV, it’s the dramatisation of Graham Norton’s book. She was great in that. Also Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue which was shown on BBC. And, of course, she presents the Pottery Throwdown although I don’t really like the “comedy” presenter trope.

Wickedlittledancer · 26/01/2026 14:21

I’m enjoying it, watched the first two, but I feel the first out was beyond shitty and not good tv viewing, and I felt sorry for them going through the application process, getting the time off, going to Scotland to be chucked out before it even started, I didn’t see anything traitorish about it, just a shit way to treat people.

i also really like Siobhan but she’s coming across nervous and trying to emulate Claudia and she needs to make it her own.

Umanresources · 26/01/2026 14:35

I liked Siobhan in Derry Girls (although controversially I wasn’t a huge fan of the whole show). I saw her in Holding and really enjoyed her in that. It took me a while to warm to her in the Pottery Throwdown and now I think she’s great. I am loving her, and her clothes in the Traitors. I do enjoy all the different Irish accents though. We’ve had some lovely holidays in Ireland and I always felt at home there. I’d love to go back again.
It must be difficult to name someone for banishment and choose a Traitor in the early round tables. Perhaps they choose people whose name they can spell.

But they don't go to Scotland. The Irish Traitors is filmed in Slane Castle, which is only about half an hour out of Dublin by car. Loads of the contestants could probably commute to the set!

Scotland!!?? 😁

Episodes 3 and 4 are on iPlayer now. I had a child off school sick today and may have watched both episodes while she slept on the sofa… silver linings!

I don’t think they chose their traitors very well. Paudie especially doesn’t seem up to the task. I’m surprised by how all three of them have “heat on them” already.

CharlotteRumpling · 26/01/2026 18:38

Paudie is useless! And none of them, Traitor or Faithful, are.very likeable.

Paudie is a national treasure.

Choux · 26/01/2026 18:55

Only seen episodes 1 and 2 but I don’t rate the camera work. At the end of episode 2 Paudie is seen writing the murder note and the camera angle shows enough of how his pen moves for me to think I know which if the three on the shortlist is being murdered. Perhaps I will see that I am wrong when I watch episode 3 but I would be surprised if the camera man didn’t give a massive spoiler.

I've seen the first two episodes on BBC. 1. Episode 3 followed by episode 4. 11.40pm tomorrow if you want to watch along with the schedule. I think there's an alternative schedule on BBC3.

I'm not keen on the Guarda traitor either - he seems rather controlling.

Edited

I think my description was “complete knob” when I saw this series. If the Beeb adds the Irish Uncloaked its worth watching his eventual appearance on that - he didn’t impress the guests either!

Fruitpastelsyum · 26/01/2026 19:29

Can we stop talking about episodes further down the line please!!!

you’ve already given away he obv makes it through quite a lot

C8H10N4O2 · 26/01/2026 19:35

All the players appear on Uncloaked eventually, its not a spoiler to acknowledge this (plus Uncloaked doesn’t seem to be available on iplayer). I was quite careful not to give away when he appears.

You said “eventually” meaning he’s not out (like we all hoped) soon

They're all out eventually.

Starandflowers · 26/01/2026 21:18

Well the chosen Traitors are pretty rubbish and unlikeable especially the Garda one. Far too smug

The only one that I would like to go a bit further is Katelyn

Unlike the UK one where all the guys were difficult to tell apart, for me it’s the women. All the dark haired ones look the same

EverardDeTroyes · 26/01/2026 21:19

I'm watching it as I needed more Traitors after our UK finale last Friday. I am usually 100% behind the traitors but my goodness, I can't warm to any of these traitors. Eamonn comes across as psychotic. I wouldn't want to be stopped for a minor traffic infringement by him! He actually scares me. Paudie comes across as completely out of his depth, no strategy to speak of (I've only watched the first 4 episodes) and Katelyn is over playing her hand and just not that likeable either. Come on Faithfuls! I actually can't wait for a Traitor (or three) to be exposed.

MagicStarrz · 26/01/2026 21:21

Ooh I might join you for this

Is it a new one?

I've only seen the UK ones

CharlotteRumpling · 26/01/2026 21:26

Can we agree on a spoiler policy please?

Yes they are all bit ineffectual and suspected already!
