Thought I'd kick it off so we have a new thread for the final leg

Old Thread for the people what likes it all neat 'n' stuff.

OP posts:
CaptainKayHarkness · 05/07/2008 21:37

Yes, Nesbitt was in Jekyll, which was written by the new showrunner, Steven Moffat, who has said, a number of times that Nesbitt isn't up for the role (and has even hinted that he's a bit ticked off with being asked about it)

So, unless Moffat's pants are as on-fire as RTD, it's not Jimmy Nesbitt.

ChanJackieTylerNo · 05/07/2008 21:37

I did wonder that too, Katisha. Timey wimey stuff, probably.

Never mind all that - Kay what's the answer to my question below?

ChanJackieTylerNo · 05/07/2008 21:38

Robert Bathurst, from Joking Apart?

Richard Coyle - the Welsh connection - could tie in with torchwood .

Katisha · 05/07/2008 21:40

SO they weren't equally time lord/human hybrids then?

Wassup · 05/07/2008 21:41

I can't stand Nesbitt but I loved Jekyll. I'd love to watch the whole series again (keep waiting for a repeat on one of the zillion channels but have never seen one).

lol tennantbelle'smum, I think you were watching closer than me

CaptainKayHarkness · 05/07/2008 21:41

Secret Smile is also good (and very scary) if you want to see DT, um, well, kissing. Also on the choob.

JackieNo · 05/07/2008 21:42

But he's not nice in Secret SMile. I want him to be nice (if a bit rough round the edges).

beansprout · 05/07/2008 21:42

Oh yes, he kisses in that one a lot too.

CaptainKayHarkness · 05/07/2008 21:45

Donna had a TimeLord brain poured into her tiny human frame, and the human-ness couldn't cope with it.

The Hand!Doctor had Donna's Human-ness mixed in with his Time Lordness, which wasn't an issue for him, because he's like, really advanced and all that palaver.

You can tidy that up with sciencey-sounding stuff, but that's basically it.

Frizbe · 05/07/2008 21:46

No one was timelord human, the other human timelord so weaker (shoddy timey wimey stuff)

Actually 1st time I'd been TennantBM so didn't miss a strawberry stand, there was a cream tea stand around the back up the side of the school! Yes, (whispers) larper.....

Katisha · 05/07/2008 21:47

Ta.
Was half expecting to hear Hand Doctor had snuffed it as well.

Chamomile · 05/07/2008 21:47

So why couldn't he just slurp out the timelord bit without stealing all her memories.

JackieNo · 05/07/2008 21:48

Oh blimey - Andy Serkis is in Tintin which Moffatt has been working on - not him, surely. Not a big enough name, do you think?

Desiderata · 05/07/2008 21:49

Jude Law would be a catch, wouldn't he?

It would hardly be a come-down .. they reckon 20 million people watched dr Who tonight.

Frizbe · 05/07/2008 21:49

No Serkis is signed up for The Hobbit, its NZ for him.

JackieNo · 05/07/2008 21:50

Phew. That's OK then.

mazzystar · 05/07/2008 21:51

Can someone with superior knowledge help me out a bit?

Alternative universe wot Rose etc stuck in - how come? and what's her mum doing there?

Why did Dr Who offer to save Davros?

Am I right in thinking Donna "died"? Metaphorically, like.

Thanking you.

TennantbellesMum · 05/07/2008 21:52

He tried to save Davros because he's not into killing people, which is why he was angry the other Doctor killed all the Daleks, but then there were so many of them they universe would be at risk.

RustyDaviesBear · 05/07/2008 21:57

Alternative universe - Rose & her mum went there at the end of Series 2 - Rose was helping the doctor send the daleks & cybermen into the void between the universes & got sucked in -the alternate version of her dad saved her at the last minute by taking her to the other universe.

The Doctor tried to save Davros because he always has to give people/aliens/whatever the chance to make good
And yes, Donna died metaphorically

RustyDaviesBear · 05/07/2008 21:58

This thread is going to have to regenerate soon.....

JackieNo · 05/07/2008 21:59

I was thinking that too Rusty. Won't be so much to say on a new one, for a while, anyway, will there?
