Thought I'd kick it off so we have a new thread for the final leg

Old Thread for the people what likes it all neat 'n' stuff.

OP posts:
SorenLorensen · 05/07/2008 21:18

James Nesbitt isn't really going to be the new Doctor is he ?

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 05/07/2008 21:18

She's had something done with her teeth.

ChanJackieTylerNo · 05/07/2008 21:18

and lol at 'eyeliner'. And probably flattened his hair down a bit too.

CaptainKayHarkness · 05/07/2008 21:20

oo, yes, and he wrapped his arms round her, and I had very funny feelings, so I did.

Well, I'm happy with it - the Doctor has given her everything she wanted that he couldn't give her, and has to walk off alone. Terribly tragically romantic. Think I'll go watch it again.

Wassup · 05/07/2008 21:21

and the new doctor was much more cleanly shaven

I thought the worst over acting of all was whatshername Smith (Luke's mother).

Thing is individually they are alright, put them all together and the overacting sticks out like a sore thumb!

NoBiggyFinish · 05/07/2008 21:22

Happy with that.

Further evidence of DT's acting talents if he can play himself twice over but still look a bit more ?shallow ( not quite sure how to describe it) in one half.

I noticed that David Morrissey was in the clips of the Christmas special, also Dervla Kirwan, wasn't it? Cue M&S ad-style music: 'This isn't just Doctor Who, it's clean-shaven, smooth kissing Doctor Who.'

beansprout · 05/07/2008 21:28

If James Nesbitt gets the gig, he is going to take the overacting into a whole new dimension, so to speak.

CaptainKayHarkness · 05/07/2008 21:28

Unless Moffat is an even bigger liar that RTD, it's not Nesbitt.

I've decided I'd like Anthony Head to do it. Him or Paul Bettany.

Now, where do I get my own DT, then?

beansprout · 05/07/2008 21:29

Davids Morrissey and Tennant were in Blackpool together too (and if you really want to see DT snog, that's one to watch!)

Desiderata · 05/07/2008 21:30

Oh, I hope david Morrissey won't be the new doctor.

He spits when he gets over-excited!

CaptainKayHarkness · 05/07/2008 21:31

This isn't just a Christmas special - this is a Cybermen invading, David Morrisey in period costume, gothic horror Doctor Who Christmas Special.

Desiderata · 05/07/2008 21:32

James Nesbitt is the gossip, and it ties in with River Song saying that the doctor was older when she was with him.

That werewolf programme he was in ... wasn't that written by the same crew?

SaintGeorge, I know, but it?s his real name so it sounds like a slip. I?ve never heard someone call him John on the show before then.

Frizbe. I managed to stay dry, didn?t get there till late though (needed clean clothes, over filled my tumble dryer and had to wait for it to go around again). Where were the strawberries? I?m really upset because I love the strawberry stand there. I spent £5.50 on a train ticket, almost door to door! Are you a LARPer? I?m not but our friends are trying to rope us in, TBD used to do it.

hamandegger David Tennant was dating Jenny, The Doctor?s daughter.

Wassup, I noticed that, but it was the other way around.

SorenLorensen · 05/07/2008 21:34

Ooh yes, another vote for Paul Bettany - I like him.

So let's have a look at what Steven Moffatt has worked on - David Morrissey: check. Any of the bods from 'Coupling'? Richard Coyle? I didn't know he'd worked on The Office. Or Waking the Dead (you see - there's my Trevor Eve suspicion again).

ChanJackieTylerNo · 05/07/2008 21:35

Whoops, not David Morrissey - I meant James Nesbitt, in Jekyll.

Katisha · 05/07/2008 21:35

Why is it if Donna couldn't be part Time Lord/part human and carry on existing, the 2nd doctor, who was the same combination of parts could carry on existing?

beansprout · 05/07/2008 21:36

James Nesbitt would be a very obvious choice. I would still prefer Bill Nighy but hey.

Am more interested in who the companion would be. Why can't they have a bloke? Do all the dads insist on eye candy?

beansprout · 05/07/2008 21:36

It's actually more than snogging but is blardy good. The whole thing is on YouTube. Sigh.
