Thought I'd kick it off so we have a new thread for the final leg

Old Thread for the people what likes it all neat 'n' stuff.

OP posts:
Aitch · 30/06/2008 16:31

you will, it's coming to c4 this year. and you will worship me as a goddess for having instructed you to watch it.

TinkerbellesMum · 30/06/2008 16:31

I only remember that I liked Doctor Who and used to watch it. I remember that I liked Ace (think I'm probably like her in a way) and a few random bits of episodes. I think I must be younger than a lot of older fans.

Interesting about the Master, wasn't that how he got the paramedic in the film?

I'm sure The Wire is on CH 5, isn't it?

I have deliberately not watched it because the last thing I need is more TV in my life. I am ignoring your siren song, Aitch.

JackieNo · 30/06/2008 16:32

Or, if we want an older man, how about Trevor Eve .

RustyBear · 30/06/2008 16:33

Joining the saddoes club here - actually it 1976 (Deadly Assassin) when the 'running out of lives' thing was first mentioned.

JackieNo · 30/06/2008 16:33

Mmm - that Dracula was dire, wasn't it.

Aitch · 30/06/2008 16:34

i dont' think so, giz, pretty sure c4 bought it. seriously. it's the best television programme ever made in the history of television. no kidding.

Mmmm - Sean Bean. Yum.

I'm sure Trevor Eve can do non-shouty as well as shouty.

KayHarker · 30/06/2008 16:36

How about Dennis Waterman? He could write and sing the theme tune too.

OP posts:
Aitch · 30/06/2008 16:36

what about little robert carlisle? [regional]

JackieNo · 30/06/2008 16:37

rofl at Dennis Waterman. Come on then, let's hear the theme tune as done by him.

gizmo · 30/06/2008 16:37

Trouble with Sean Bean is, he's a bit too good looking for the eccentric/grumpy doctor characterisation, and (dare I say it) slightly too mature for the doctor as sex god characterisation.

On the other hand, it might prompt a different persona than my rather limited palette, which can only be a good thing.

So I'm going to have to make some room in my TV life, then, Aitch? What shall I dump, do you think - the Apprentice, or House?

gizmo · 30/06/2008 16:38

I could be so good for Who...

UnquietDad · 30/06/2008 16:39

"I'm Doct- or Whoo-ooo
I could be so good fer yew-ew,

If you wanna I'll recalibrate the TARDIS location,
Right people right time, wrong temporo-spatial situation..."

It's irresistible, isn't it Kay?

Scene: the Tardis materialises outside a dodgy early 80's car dealership.

Doctor Who steps out in a heavy sheepskin coat. A cigar clamped between his teeth, he is exactly the sort of bloke who can get you any dodgy rip off you care to mention....

JackieNo · 30/06/2008 16:44

Let's face it - that was Captain Jack's character when we first met him, wasn't it.
