Welcome to Thread 5 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)

Candidates for murder in Episode 6: Ellie, Faraaz, Jade, Matthew, Reece and Sam (Amanda was also a potential but was banished beforehand and Fiona and Stephen cannot be murdered).

The floor is yours…

I think it was arrogance, she was so confident that she would win the game.

Mind you she's not the first to think her job/qualifications/intuition give her an edge beyond reality.

I've heard a theory that Jessie and Jade are a couple. If so they are playing it really well.

Absolutely no way.

IVotedForYourself · 09/01/2026 11:19

Forget about Murder in Plain Sight.
Stephen is the epitome of Traitor in Plain Sight, very much in the same vein as Alan Carr was, in Celebrity Traitors.

Only Jessie has consistently pointed this out.

Surely Fiona is in breach of the traitor oath?

No. She only said she suspected Rachel was a traitor rather than confirm that she was indeed a traitor.

I didn't like Rachel to beginning, but I like Fiona even less. I thought she was far too smug once it was revealed she was the ST, saying that she's been doing their job for them.

Even though I laughed when Rachel insisted "We don't need them", I now agree with her and can't wait to see her demolish Fiona. Rachel is cool as a cucumber though, so it will be Interesting to see how she throws her under the bus.

Maz came across very animated and perceptive on Uncloaked, and it's such a shame he went out early.

If I were a Faithful, I'd want both Rachel and Fiona out now because I wouldn't trust either of them. I'd probably want Rachel out first ideally so I could see if Fiona was right that she's a Traitor, but once I knew she was, I'd probably just be even keener to get Fiona out too. It's a hugely confident move accusing someone like that when you're not at the round table. In fact, even when people are sure of their accusations there, they tend to say things like "sorry if I'm wrong".

LighthouseLED · 09/01/2026 11:23

Yes, I agree. It’s a shame we didn’t see more of him on the main show.

(I bet he clocked Amanda as a police officer instantly - sure he will have had experience of clueless senior officers!)

Ladyymuck · 09/01/2026 11:28

Cushylife · 09/01/2026 10:03

I'd say Ross understood why he was being picked on - his secret friend, his plan etc - he understood the optics. What was the reason Amanda picked Jade, I can't remember the explanation she gave?

I’m sure on Traitors Uncloaked that Amanda said she didn’t know why she targeted Jade when questioned by Ed. She said it was something along the lines of Jade was the first person she saw after the initial selection. Not a good advert for met detectives Confused

AuntyAngela · 09/01/2026 11:31

WineBeforeWhine · 09/01/2026 11:12

Surely Fiona is in breach of the traitor oath?

I dont think so - she said "I think Rachel's a traitor", rather than "Rachel is a traitor".

I think it's as simple as that. The Traitors' oath doesn't say a traitor can't accuse or vote against another traitor; or even that they need to protect other traitors.

GreatName · 09/01/2026 11:32

Losing Maz is a big loss for the faithfuls. I found Uncloacked hilarious seeing Amanda's sense of self importance whilst Maz had all the real answers. Typical MET, promoting the wasters and wasting actual talent in the lower paid jobs.

Rachel’s behaviour last night was not cool though- she departed from her strategy and got involved in drama - she screwed up

I think it was arrogance, she was so confident that she would win the game.

Ugh! I detest Amanda, as I do Rachel. I don’t usually get this het up about contestants but these two have raised my BP.

Amanda waffling on about all her fantastic policing skills only to be totally off the mark and confiding in a sodding traitor, the issue now is because Rachel holds a lot of sway and is liked ( this has been mentioned by banished/murdered contestants) if Rachel decides to keep Amanda’s theories alive then Jade is a gonner, and for nonsense reasons at that. Luckily the fight between Rachel and Fiona might mean Jade is no longer enemy number one as Rachel will probably go gunning for Fiona now.

Jade needs to stop being so childish about it all and now Amanda has gone I hope she plays a better game.

Rachel is so unlikeable and from day one I didn’t like her so I hope she doesn’t win even more so as she kept gunning for Ross and trying to trip him
up etc. I get all traitors do that but there was something about the way Rachel was going about it that bothered me. Fiona is annoying and somewhat unhinged but boy was she good to watch last night😂

That said the way she intentionally screwed whatshisname over with the skull collection task saying it’s a nice day so just decided to take her time and enjoy herself etc is unforgivable and deserves whatever nastiness thrown at her online/in the real world… I’ve never seen any contestant behave so selfishly and carelessly in a task.

I don’t care who wins as long as it’s not Fiona or Rachel..

When Rachel told others about Amanda?

Except it was what Amanda told her to do if she was eliminated. Granted, she could have told the other Traitors her plan first.

Rachel's mistake was underestimating Fiona's batshittery and how little she trusted her.

IVotedForYourself · 09/01/2026 11:39

Amanda - the walking talking advert for a Senior Detective career in The Metropolitan Police.

Amanda <with serious face on, whilst confiding in Queen Traitor Rachel >
"I'm very adept at covert policing. That was my job"

Also Amanda <at the Round Table, whilst holding fast to her conviction that Jade, a Faithful, is a Traitor>
"I'm voting for you because you voted for me because I voted for you"

BestIsWest · 09/01/2026 11:44

I really don’t like the games on this series where they are ‘picking on’ individuals. First the choosing of people for the cages leaving Sam without a partner then last nights burning of the shields with names on. I don’t recall the games in past series being so spiteful, there was a lot more teamwork I think. Reminds me of school bullying.

I hope Stephen stays in as long as possible for the sheer entertainment value of his facial expressions.

APurpleSquirrel · 09/01/2026 11:51

I think Amanda’s revelation to Rachel, put Rachel in an awkward position.
Firstly, Rachel was clearly upset/annoyed at the RT after Amanda was banished & emotions running high. She had this big secret about Amanda & knew there was no benefit to keeping it to herself. She saw the advantage that by telling the rest of the group she could throw Jade, Sam & Reece under suspicion, due to not only Amanda’s previous job but also because her parting words were ‘take notice’ or something. Plus it would take the heat of both Stephen & Fiona who have both had their names mentioned.

Should Rachel have sought out Stephen & Fiona privately, before revealing it to the group? Probably, but how would that have played out given Fiona’s utterly bizarre reaction? Fiona would likely have then used it to poison everyone to Rachel, going around confiding that Rachel is lying etc etc.

My guess is that Rachel thought she needed to divulge the secret asap as if she’d waited until breakfast/next day it would have looked more contrived. By telling everyone just before bed it gives them time to ruminate on it overnight.

I mean, no-one could have foreseen Fiona’s reaction! Even Rachel was thrown, asking ‘are you joking?’ To react that way, striding through the house as if she owns it, hauling Rachel in for a private chat that Fiona apparently doesn’t like, & then mouthing off was just… unhinged. The fact she wouldn’t even let Rachel explain why she’d done it; just point blank refused to accept that Rachel might be favoured over her - so petty.

Im glad Rachel called it out - I don’t think there is anything else she could have done really. Yes she’s exposed herself, but she never intended it blow up like that & have a screaming match in the kitchen.

Definitely Team Anyone but Fiona

@MrsLeonFarrell well they both have an excellent eyeshadow game going on! Loving their makeup skills

Yes, I agree. She's seems to come across quite the nasty piece of work.
lf this is her 'true colour' coming out, you certainly wouldn't want her as a MIL would you! 😂

The jealousy of finding out that Amanda had confided in Rachel rather than her was too much. I hope Rachel wipes the floor with her; Stephen seems pretty ineffective so I doubt he'll show much support for either.

I do wonder though, if we, the audience, are being 'played' and the producers have told Amanda/Rachel/Fiona to 'act' out this little scene? I really hope not!

Ooh, that's exactly what I said to my DH, that I was a bit suspicious that the whole Fiona/Rachel thing was producer led.

I really bloody hope not!

I think Rachel is just a very serious player. I don't find her dislikeable at all. I'm on the faithful side, so I don't want her to win. But, I think she's probably a perfectly pleasant person outside of the game.
Fiona on the other hand... Fiona really is a piece of work!

#team anyone but Fiona

I couldn't believe Fiona pottering around the woods with the odd skull or two whilst everyone else was belting around at 190mph. How Reece didn't strangle her I really don't know ...

Thoroughly dislike Rachel I must say

I wonder if she'd already been playing mind games on him to destabilise him. Grrrrrr

newrubylane · 09/01/2026 12:15

Last night's drama was so obviously traitor on traitor. Fiona 1. calling Rachel a liar with no evidence 2. Doing so publically and to Rachel's face and 3. Accusing an under-the-rader player of being a traitor on that flimsy evidence alone - none of these things are faithful behaviour. A faithful might well question the timing and lack of corroboration for Rachel's statement, but they'd discuss it quietly with other faithfuls and take it to the round table. They'd ask questions rather than directly accuse; for Fiona to be so certain on so little evidence makes them both look very guilty.

Interestingly there are two possible corroborations for Rachel's story. Firstly Faraaz (I think?) witnessed that Amanda wanted to speak to Rachel privately. Secondly, there's had been a lot of speculation around the hidden connections between players, meaning there may be someone in there (Reece?) who knows Amanda and can back Rachel up re. Amanda's profession if they choose to.

Stephen'a reaction to the whole thing was hilarious to watch. I'm not sure he has the nouse to navigate this situation to his advantage. I said early on that I wasn't sure how he'd perform under pressure and he's definitely cocked up a few times already.

Lastly, someone one the previous thread said Harriet could be Jessie's mum, and I thought the same thing last night during the round table. Something similar about their mannerisms, a head movement, caught my eye.

She would never have done it if it had affected the prize pot. As they were guaranteed to get the lot as enough people had to be saved, she could fanny around without too many people getting cross, and use the fannying to destabilise Reese.
