Welcome to Thread 5 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)

Candidates for murder in Episode 6: Ellie, Faraaz, Jade, Matthew, Reece and Sam (Amanda was also a potential but was banished beforehand and Fiona and Stephen cannot be murdered).

The floor is yours…

Production can't interfere, there is prize money at stake so any attempt to shape/control events would be a major breach of broadcasting rules.

I think Fiona is just so full of her own self importance that she couldn't stand the thought of her 'rival' being confided in rather than her. She probably sneaks out at dawn on bin day to put general waste in the top of the neighbours recycling bin if they dare to have a gathering or.outing they don't invite her to.

Oh that's hilarious! 😂I know so many people like that in the village I live in. They've literally never left and in their minds are still living in the glory days of when they were the most popular/prettiest/in their heyday somehow. Jealousy and pettiness abound! Knowing this, it's easy to predict how Fiona will react in certain situations. I thought she was flying under the radar till yesterday. She would've been much wiser to keep quiet of course but she seems to have literally been triggered by Amanda confiding in Rachel over her, and Rachel suddenly having more power.

Cremeul · 09/01/2026 09:28

Reece seems to be struggling, but I’m really not sure why his emotional state makes the others think he’s a definite faithful? Surely it could just be the stress of being a traitor causing the tears (à La Alan Carr).

TreesandGreen · 09/01/2026 09:28

DarkForces · 09/01/2026 08:15

Fiona will never believe she should have handled this differently. Her self reflection is 0

Yes, I wonder if she felt at all embarrassed when she watched it last night, after seeing that Rachel was telling the truth?
I think most of us are #teamanyonebutFiona at this point.

I'm team faithful overall, but in terms of the battle of the Celtic queendom, I'm absolutely team Rachel...

jay55 · 09/01/2026 09:31

Rachel spilled to deflect from Stephen, that certainly worked. They all have the memories of goldfish.

ContentedAlpaca · 09/01/2026 09:32

I think Amanda was both naive and arrogant.
I would think that she might have operated on gut instinct, (which is mostly sub conscious pattern matching) a lot in the real world, leading her team to facts to back it up.
3 series has illustrated that just having a feeling doesn't work so well in the TV environment.

'I just want to help everyone' sounded arrogant when she is part of everyone, so it sounded like she was setting herself apart a bit.

Also I could understand her thinking that she should keep her profession a secret as it might lead everyone to think she might be better at the game than she was, though not actually assuming herself that it would give her an edge.

I am disappointed. I thought she would be much better at the game than she was and that she would play her cards close to her chest rather than throwing blind accusations around..

Cushylife · 09/01/2026 09:38

Amanda's "detective" work is a bit embarrassing. There was literally no evidence against Jade but she was totally convinced of her guilt - excellent police work (not) - and just how you imagine some of them behave.

And finally confiding in a traitor - that's the funniest thing!

Agree, she really thought her senior detective skills gave her an advantage. I was cracking up when on uncloaked Maz couldn’t help himself laughing at the look on her face when Rachel, her best mate, was revealed as a traitor.
Smugness replaced by embarrassment.

jay55 · 09/01/2026 09:44

Amanda not being able to change tack when she was pissing everyone off was hilarious to see. Was a shame she imploded quite so badly but it all lead to the blowup which was great entertainment.

Maggiethecat · 09/01/2026 09:46

It would be awful however if people suddenly think that because she’s ex detective, her theories are credible 😳

Agree. I've been loving the genius that is Traitors but, if its going to morph into one of those Ch4 type reality show where casting opts for those with obvious mental health issues, it might be the last series I watch. He's clearly not coping well.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 09/01/2026 09:50

I'm intrigued how they will behave the next day to not arouse suspicions
If you think they are both faithful the fallout happened almost immediately before they were all sent back to their "lodgings" and no further conversation possible.
So you would expect them to continue the argument the following day.
now we know they will have been in the turret hashing it out and coming up with a strategy to try and minimise the damage.
Will it all look too obvious if they both turn up in the morning pretending it never happened?

Bimblesalong · 09/01/2026 09:57

Placemarking for later with popcorn.

I think it was foolish to try and explain her logic to “help” others in such an artificial situation where people are predisposed not to trust you. The strategies don’t work so well and she should have stuck to “I think because” rather than trying to tell others how to do it.

I think the only reason she looked like she was picking on Jade was due to Jade’s reactions. We have always had people convinced that X is a traitor and sticking with them night after night. Ross had far more of this than Jade without his accusers being told they were picking on him but Ross didn’t act like a petulant child and was friendly with his accusers after the RT.

Jade’s reactions to being accused on the first night came across as petulant and her tit for tat accusing of Amanda in return were childish. If I were Amanda I’d have taken that as being on to a sure thing.

On the first threads a lot of PPs described Jade as immature and I thought that was quite harsh but there is something quite “young” about her and her petulance when accused does make her look guilty. I’m not sure what else she contributes to the game overall but she is very background character currently and just following rather than adding.

My3dahliasarebloominlovely · 09/01/2026 10:01

I had a family member like Fiona, and her Jekyll and Hyde behaviour is giving me flashbacks. Especially her nasty game playing with Reece - she has been so malicious to him while being beguilingly grandmotherly and caring to his face. She seems to zero in on the vulnerable and stick the stiletto in . I hope Rachel decimates her ....but then how much of my reaction is down to my past experiences with narcissistic rellie?

James - David Tennant does a dramatisation of Danny Robbins from Uncanny.

I suspect most of us have met a Fiona IRL. Yes its part of the game but she takes it to another level and seems to enjoy the malicious parts a bit too much.

Thanks for the new thread @CaveMum

I think I have sussed out the interchangable males:
Adam - Cockney builder, cap
James - David Tennant
Jack - glasses & earrings
Matthew - the one we never see, soft NI accent, has some nice sweaters

I think Reece, Sam and Faraaz are more recognisable!

This is really helpful, thank you!

I'd say Ross understood why he was being picked on - his secret friend, his plan etc - he understood the optics. What was the reason Amanda picked Jade, I can't remember the explanation she gave?

100% agree re; Jade. Something about her is just not likeable..

threesocksmorgan · 09/01/2026 10:08

still catching up on the other thread.
really think Rachel is a mean girl and Fiona is mean too.

ThePoshUns · 09/01/2026 10:10

This post on X made me chuckle

”I need to know if Reece from Traitors works in a sweet shop full of cute jars of bonbons and sherbert or if he works in one of those american sweet shops that are money laundering fronts. It matters”

RedToothBrush · 09/01/2026 10:11

Jade is one of those people who is a bit hard to warm to I think. She has a very hard exterior and expression unless she's on form. If she doesn't take to you immediately, walls go up.

Amanda didn't like her, made that clear and Jade has simply reacted to that. Amanda has misinterpreted that as suspicious. Amanda got fixated with that and couldn't see anything else.

Its slightly troubling to think that her personal dislike of someone has led to suspicion given her former profession and the arrogance she had over just how right she was tbh.
