SmugColditz · 11/06/2008 22:52

Quick, quick, let's all point and laugh at the ignorant people! We're better than them, shouldn't we be proud of ourselves?

I mean, mocking people for getting things wrong is second only to laughing at people for lacking a basic knowledge of nutrition, isn't it? Entirely laudable and constructive.

Not at all like a gang of spiteful little nine year olds.

misdee · 11/06/2008 22:53

iliketosleep · 11/06/2008 23:41

Is it just me and i havent read all the thread so sorry if im saying the same thing someone else has but....

I noticed that the toddlers on the show were being fed, chip shop chips (nearly a full bag at that, which is great for a 1 year old ) smiley faces, fruit shoots, sweets, crisps......

I did not see one apple or carrot anywhere......

sorry just needed to vent that and dp doesnt want to know

iliketosleep · 11/06/2008 23:43

BTW im not saying this is all these kids live on but i would have at least made the effort for the camera lol

iliketosleep · 11/06/2008 23:48

ok its been mentioned.....erm alot......sorry

SmugColditz · 12/06/2008 00:06

I'm sure editors don't cut the film to show whatever they want to show, no, they wouldn't. That would be manipulative.

It would be outrageous to suggest that the directors of these shows hand pick the most naive and trusting people, ensure that the activities carried out by these people fit into the 'character profile' they have in their heads, and then voraciously cut the film to show them in the worst possible light.

So I won't.

AbstractMouse · 12/06/2008 00:22

I always wonder that, why people on documentaries like this don't make more of an effort for the camera. Dd and ds do have fish fingers and waffles etc (they have freshly cooked nutritious stuff too) but if a frigging camera crew was in my house they would be chowing down on homemade vegetable soup and carrot sticks lol. Or maybe they tell them not to, a balanced account does not good telly make.

AbstractMouse · 12/06/2008 00:23

Ooh x post colditz.

AbstractMouse · 12/06/2008 00:28

And I really didn't get all this, what you eat when pregnant makes your kids obese. Erm placenta anyone? surely that filters most of the crud, and someone who eats junk food in pregnancy is likely to eat it when the child is born, surely skewing results. What they need are mothers who solely ate rabbit food in pregnancy but reverted to Maccy D's twice a day when the baby was born, control groups and all that.

QueenBhannae · 12/06/2008 01:45

I had three large babies at 9lb, 12lb 8oz and 12lb 2oz (the latter two born 3 and 4 weeks early) and all of them are skinny minnies now albeit very tall.
My craving throughout all my pregnacies was for bath/car/ramer sponges. I did not eat crap and actually lost significant weight in my last two pregnancies.
The programme was utter tosh imo.

sweetkitty · 12/06/2008 07:46

dizzy - I did go to bed lol

JARM - pregnant and miserable 36 weeks now!

DanJARMouse · 12/06/2008 08:35

oooh not long now then! Soooo excited for you! x

sweetkitty · 12/06/2008 09:49

erm thanks really looking forward to the labour, no I am in a way get rid of this sodding SPD

How is you and yours? D must be getting big now?

Was thinking must be such a strain on a womans body carrying a huge baby, I would assume the placenta is bigger plus extra fluid. I remember with DD2 at the end it felt like I could stretch no more and she had no room to move.

DanJARMouse · 12/06/2008 12:01

SK - look at my profile - he is a big lad!
