I wonder if any of these giant babies were breastfed?

Lollypopzmummy · 11/06/2008 21:42

well, in most cases it's to do with your status isn't it? If you're from a poorer background your family tend to eat less healthily, well that's how it is round here, you only ever see chavs in the chip shops round here, mainly cos they're skaaaaanky!
That and the fact that junky foods are cheaper than healthier choices etc, and there's just not enough info readily available so when you get to the stage of being pregnant and your midwife isn't trying to get you to sort your diet out cos they think you're a lost cause either way, then how is anyone meant to change?

I am only going by the way it's done here, and it's actually meant to be quite a well off place to live here, but everywhere has it's poorer areas right?!

misdee · 11/06/2008 21:43

my baby ginat was breastfed for 8 weeks.

the moses basket piuctuire she was two weeks old and already starting to outgrow the 0-3 month sleepsuits.

bethoo · 11/06/2008 21:43

the epidural needle would put me off getting fat alone!

dizzydixies · 11/06/2008 21:43

mine were both breastfed and have healthy diets

dizzydixies · 11/06/2008 21:44

omg @ the strapping up the stomach

Lollypopzmummy · 11/06/2008 21:44

GreenMonkies · 11/06/2008 21:44

Sorry, I wasn't very clear was I, I mean, I wonder how may of these "gaint" toddlers were bf as babies, if you see what I mean?

Thomcat · 11/06/2008 21:45

Oh bless her, she's a lovely wee thing

sheepgoMEEP · 11/06/2008 21:45

do they lollypopz? my kids eat very healthily thank you very much!

Just because you are poor doesn't mean to say you feed your kids shit

some people do of course

dizzydixies · 11/06/2008 21:45

I think to be fair Lollypop I'd laugh with nerves at that point too

did they say 6lb6?

misdee · 11/06/2008 21:46

green monkies by dd2 WAS a giant toddler. i was asked when she was 2years old why she wasnt joining the other reception children in the pre-session class.

she is a very tall and heavey girl.

GreenMonkies · 11/06/2008 21:46

Surely a lot of it is genetic, some of it is maternal diet and so on?

(I hate the way they yank babies out......)

ronshar · 11/06/2008 21:47

OMG. It is making me cry.
13lb the pain, the fat tummies.

I am worried that I am a size 12 at 25 weeks. Crickey.

bethoo · 11/06/2008 21:47

thinking about another? not even closed her up yet!

dizzydixies · 11/06/2008 21:48

greenmonkies - I agree, wee soul isn't a farking rugby ball

misdee - dd2 is 95cm and solid but I wouldn't say obese in any way, she is also mistaken for being older than she is too

bethoo · 11/06/2008 21:48

ronshar hello there, you are not big at a size 12 at 25 weeks dafty!
