I’ve loved him since brothers and sisters.

Ive just watch the first episode and I don’t know whether to clean the kitchen first or just watch the second one. I don’t know how many have dropped but it is so good. She is her usual worried manic sell and he is a very good baddie.

i hope sone of you will agree with me

Just finished it. I found it really good, edge of my seat stuff. Loved the soundtrack and also loved Mathew Rhys who I thought played Nile soooo well.

Brainstorm23 · 16/11/2025 00:02

I just finished it too. They did manage to stick the landing!

I was transfixed by the chicken eating, it was grotesque!

It was when the camera cut to the watching dogs that did it for me.

The soundtrack along with the general vibe is reminding me of Beef , which I loved.

HauntedBungalow · 16/11/2025 01:29

Yeah Beef was amazing too, but I think was more cynical and zeitgeisty, for me it had a different vibe. This feels more elemental.

Watched the first three episodes yesterday and am really enjoying it. I love CD. I agree she has a style but it’s one I like. Elizabeth Moss and Nicola Walker are other actresses I think have certain acting traits that they carry through all roles they do and I like them too.

Niles is fabulous and I like that he’s charming and funny is a true narcissist way which makes him incredibly difficult to read.

Clafoutie · 16/11/2025 20:24

I loved the first episode, but then gave up as I found the violence in later episodes too sickening. It was disappointing as I had high hopes after reading rave reviews. I did love Steve the dog though, he looked like a little lamb!

HauntedBungalow · 16/11/2025 20:54

I'm five episodes in now. So far I haven't seen a great deal of violence actually shown, because it's cut away from. But it's so tense that I'm all strung out watching it anyway. The dancing to Psycho Killer was hilarious, a real treat to watch.

EachandEveryone · 16/11/2025 21:41

Yes it was. Such a classic track.

I’ve finished it now. Will wait to discuss when others have caught up

Reddog1 · 16/11/2025 23:33

I’ve just finished it. Incredible. What a cast! Brilliant writing.

The sound track is brilliant

I'm loving lots of soundtracks recently. People my age are obviously doing well in TV.

TheaBrandt1 · 16/11/2025 23:45

It’s very good. We are watching it properly together with no phones. Had to look away at the violence though.

Clare Danes is so good. Refreshing to see a normal woman around my age on screen with wrinkles whose face moves.

Empress13 · 17/11/2025 13:55

Am enjoying this at mo we are on episode 5. Anyone else think Clare Danes looks like Glenda Jackson back in the day?

cromwell44 · 17/11/2025 14:00

@Empress13 Yes, I was thinking Glenda Jackson too as I was watching last night. I also agree @TheaBrandt1 about the naturalness of CDs face. It's refreshing to see an actress with a normally aging face.

Holluschickie · 17/11/2025 15:48

I really liked this. Both Matthew Rhys and Clare Danes were great and had fabulous chemistry. Some parts OTT but overall pretty good. Just loved MR's dance to Psycho Killers. He really relished this role.

TheaBrandt1 · 17/11/2025 22:51

Oh god the violence though. He really is a monster very apt title.

DisforDarkChocolate · 18/11/2025 09:36

I loved the chemistry between them too.

How disturbing would it be a feel a connection to someone has horrible as he was!

BlackSwan · 18/11/2025 18:21

Wasn't sold on the ending. Love CD but MR was a bit samey and flat.

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 18/11/2025 19:57

I did think the key scene in the final episode was a bit obvious. From the moment she came into the bedroom I knew exactly what was happening and I’m not sure I found it realistic given how he had been to that point. But still a great series.

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · 18/11/2025 20:03

I love it.

Claire and Matthew are Amazing IMO

They are both so happy to be "ugly" / real / unlikable and they play slightly unhinged people so well!!!!

It's so british of me but it keeps coming to the fore of my.mind when watching - if he's loaded amd she's cash strapped why is her "renovation" house stunning and amazing while his is a pile.of shit / Barratt Home McMansion. 😅

berlinbaby2025 · 18/11/2025 20:15

I lost some interest half way through when the political sub plot began. I was also hoping for some twists but everything was predictable.

BeaLola · 20/11/2025 20:05

I started this yesterday and finished watching tonight

I really liked it, the music and everything.

One thing that made me laugh was she was living in that big house all by herself ... the one she rushed back to and "locked" the rickety door to keep herself safe - like that would do it - there was lots of glass windows a maniac could smash through (!)

EachandEveryone · 20/11/2025 20:09

I was just glad the dog made it
