I have never watched this series before and at home being ill I thought I would try it - god it's awful! All these average looking people (I say this as a less tahn average looking person) whinging that their new spouses aren't good looking enough for them, people being awful on the wedding day, not giving each other a chance, nitpicking. Its just mostly terrible people. I've pushed myself to get halfway through and I have got to turn it off, other than one or two of them (Nelly and Leah seem lovely and Keye and Davide are a lush couple), they all seem to be a nightmare!

Trouble is, we’ve all been love bombed by the programme, in a Steven stylee.
In the early years, yes there were a few grotbags, but there were some lovely couples, nice people not chasing fame.
Each series we sit there in hope as they all walk down the aisle and then run to this page to justify our delusions and laugh it off.
When will we ever learn? …please provide some kind of intervention, Nelly first and then us

Maybe I should have started with an earlier series than this latest one! It just felt like all of these people were expecting something else and automatically shut down. And some of the matches seemed entirely insane. Surely they would have watched the series previously and known what they were in for. I only warmed to one or two of them, its unpleasant to watch.

The Australian ones are usually better, especially the earlier series

Agree, try the Aus ones. It's similar to Big Brother; the earlier ones were actually about matching people and trying to help them stay together and be happy but has descended into a lot of fame hungry wannabes in it for a shag-and-go fame escapade.

Not buying the Ashley/Grace thing one iota. They are a bit more middle class than some of the others so maybe better at pretending to be civilised but there’s 0 chemistry there. I predict that now he’s heard that all kinds of OW want to jump him, his head will be turned and he’ll start thinking he can do better, ie be with someone who is not actively revolted by him.

Not buying April/Leo either. They didn’t even bother showing his sub-group on the day out because he was just so boring. For her this was a fun fling and now she’s got the ick. I predict either she or Sarah will go for Ash.

Joe - feel a bit sorry for him - suspect producers had a hand in sending him home because combo of death in family & recovering alcoholic is potentially disastrous and the made for TV fiction that is Joe-and-Maeve is not up to coping with that.

Leah - 100% guarantee that her comment she would s* Leisha is going to go straight back to Leigh quicker than it took Sarah to get over the tragic loss of Dean.

Nelly - kind of get where she’s coming from - unlike Reiss/Leisha which has been a one sided car crash from the start, there were a few days in HM when she and Steven were all loved up and now she’s thinking “if we had that once we can have it again”

Nelly needs to work out which is the real Steve, honeymoon Steve or angry Steve.

I expect in her mind she thinks that the change in him is down to something that she’s done and is desperately trying to find ways to fix the situation so she can get that feel good high that honeymoon Steve gave her.

I don’t trust Bailey. Nothing concrete but he seems very aware and performative as opposed to relaxed and natural. But, we don’t get the full picture so 🤷‍♀️

Maive and Joe went downhill fast after family week when Maive’s friend questioned what ‘this’ would look like on the outside. It was as though the panic kicked in for Joe as to how his life in particular would change.

I actually like Reiss. I don’t like that he eats like a baboon, that he chews his own teeth, or that he would have had his wife go to a hospital in a strange country alone on their HONEYMOON! And I do think he’s on it for fame, but I think he’s generally harmless.

Glad Sarah’s escaped. Disappointed she had to be pushed though and cannot believe she would have endured another week of have her leg grabbed.

I have also just caught up on last night’s episode. So evil of JR to try and manipulate Div into keeping quiet about them having it off by making out like she’s some kind of prude. Where does she get off?? Oh yeah, she told us 🙄

Aside to that, I found the juxtaposition of Joe’s tat-covered torso and Ashley’s solitary chest anchor to be highly amusing.
