A TV documentary that follows the work of a police force will show how the investigation into the actions of a teenage killer unfolded.

Nicholas Prosper used a shotgun to kill his mother Juliana Falcon, 48, his brother Kyle, 16, and his 13-year-old sister, Giselle, at their home in Luton on 13 September 2024.
The 19-year-old, who was arrested in the hours after the murders, was jailed for 49 years in March. A trial heard he intended to carry out a shooting at his former primary school.

The Channel Four series 24 Hours in Police Custody, which follows the work of investigators at Bedfordshire Police, will feature the case over two nights on 5 and 6 October.

Nicholas Prosper jailed for at least 49 years for Luton triple murders

After killing his family in their tower block in Luton, Nicholas Prosper planned to carry out a mass shooting at his former primary school.

I thought that could be the only answer but I also had the impression that there had been a bit more time elapsed between the judgement and the murders. There was so much going on last night with the pursuit etc that I might have missed some details.

I thought it was only a couple of days?

So I watched this earlier and looking forward to part 2 tonight. I remember reading about it at the time and always wondered if the mum was in on it. I can’t remember for sure whether they prosecuted her and am resisting googling. I seem to think possibly not, but if not I’d think there’s always a question of did she know and she’s got away with it.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 09/12/2025 17:58

I reckon she knew but wasnt actively involved - that said i only know from what I semi watched last night

Will watch at 9pm - is it already on 4od?

Yes, the court hearing had been the Monday of the week the murders happened.

i also thought (but might be wrong) that they lived in that hotel? The police said something along the lines of her dad came to see her there every morning….unless i really misunderstood that. I thought sometimes the council put homeless families up in such accommodation.???

It wasn’t there this afternoon. I looked.

That's what I took it to mean @CameForAVacationStayedForTheRevolution

So hard not to google ...

Toddlerteaplease · 09/12/2025 20:06

Bloody hell, what have I just watched?!

mumofoneAloneandwell · 09/12/2025 20:57

Sat for a nosey at who was in on it

dapsnotplimsolls · 09/12/2025 21:12

I wonder if he thought he would get away with it.

FoxRedPuppy · 09/12/2025 21:13

Bloody hell, that cctv is brutal. And hearing the man say “help” 😢

Episode 2.

Says he wants to give an interview to explain after the initial "No Comment" mantra.

Proceeds to No Comment on everything 👹

It infuriated me. Not sure if he’s playing games or just changed his mind about talking.

dapsnotplimsolls · 09/12/2025 21:51

I don't think there'll be enough evidence to charge the other two.

dapsnotplimsolls · 09/12/2025 21:57

So it worked - they ended up going to the US.

Lalgarh · 09/12/2025 21:57

FFS using "having to look after my sick wife" as mitigation.

A huge insult to the literal Millions of women and men who have caring responsibilities and patently NOT do this

That made me furious.

dapsnotplimsolls · 09/12/2025 22:00

Whoah - sole custody??

FoxRedPuppy · 09/12/2025 22:01

Oh wow, she got full custody.

CameForAVacationStayedForTheRevolution · 09/12/2025 22:01

Wow she got away with it didn’t She! Even the police officer seemed to think so. . Terrible. I feel,so,sorry for Josh’s mum. But so glad she got custody

so in the end was all for nothing because the boy’s mum didn’t get custody. Am amazed a court gave the grandmother custody though if the mother wasn’t charged with anything.

Boutonnière · 09/12/2025 22:01

At the least, Sam was planning to defy custody decision and leave the country. I think she was more complicit with her father’s actions than could be proved

whatohwhattodo · 09/12/2025 22:01

All I could think was how shocked you would be if you walked out your room in a premier inn and saw that - I wonder if they called other rooms to tell them to stay put….

FoxRedPuppy · 09/12/2025 22:02

Can’t believe the mum thought of taking him away from his dad in the first place. I wouldn’t even consider moving to another part of the country from my dc dad. Let alone another country.

What did she think would happen when she married and had a child with a US airman?

WineBeforeWhine · 09/12/2025 22:02

Why did Gary’s ex get custody of the little boy? She wasn’t a blood relative? Or was she Josh mum? I’m confused.
