I’ve been waiting for this

meant to be very good

The BBC has released the transmission date for Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue – the six-episode series from the mind of Anthony Horowitz.

Starts next Saturday

In the six-part series, a plane carrying a small group of passengers, crew and pilot, crashes in the Mexican jungle.

All the bodies are recovered and placed in a morgue… but it turns out that only one of them died in the crash.

The other passengers were murdered afterwards, each one in a unique way.

But by whom?

And why? As the story unfolds in flashback, we meet the survivors as they fight against the heat, a shortage of supplies, the many dangers of the jungle… and each other.

The setting becomes increasingly tense and claustrophobic as, one by one, they are dispatched with a series of shocks that bring us ever closer to the truth and – at the very end – a jaw-dropping reveal.

The ensemble cast includes Eric McCormack (Will & Grace, Perception), David Ajala (Star Trek: Discovery) as Zack; Lydia Wilson (The Swarm) as Sonja; Peter Gadiot (Yellowjackets) as Carlos; Siobhán McSweeney (Derry Girls) as Lisa; Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Tourist) as Travis; Adam Long (Happy Valley) as Dan, and Jan Le (The Capture) as Amy. Filming recently started in the Canary Islands.

Other than it not being Zack or Sonia, I’m baffled.

Was that definitely Kevin in the water? the face was damaged.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/10/2025 23:31

So was I right and there was another person there all the time but one who Sonja recognises

maybe her druggie boyfriend who was meant to be dead

or

it is one of the original 10 and not dead dead and once wrapped in a sheet faced a body shape and pretended to be dead

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 25/10/2025 23:34

The 10

so we have
1 pilot Octavio
2 air hostess Beatrice
3 new married lady Amy
4 new married man Dan
5 old married woman Lisa
6 old married hubby Travis
7 doctor Kevin
8 dark haired English lady Sonja
9 insurance man Zack
10 Carlos

slim dark trousers so ruling out lisa and travis due to size

so 4 7 10 left

dan

Kevin and wasn’t him in pond with face chewed off and a quick clothes /body swap

Carlos

Maybe Carlos and his mask - it’s all a pretence

we actually watched 2 episodes last night to get it finished. wish I had never started it. none of the people were very nice.

OccasionalHope · 26/10/2025 10:25

The fact that it’s Carlos’s mask does look a bit suspicious. How dead did Dan look? Could he have been pretending? Is the body in the pool really Kevin?

I said some pages back I wondered if one of the 10 might not be dead, and it does seem more likely to me than an 11th person we have never seen before. Unless it’s Lydia’s bf. Anthony Horowitz is quite a playful writer, and this would have echoes of Christie’s And Then There Were None.

I have bought And Then There Were None to read over Christmas whilst I do my Agatha Christie jigsaw. Despite knowing the ending it's a fantastic read.

I can’t wait for next Saturday

tempted to watch early 🙀🙀🙀🙀

but I won’t

I’ve tried with this. I really have. But it’s awful. Badly acted and the set looks like an exhibit in a ‘our fragile world’ type montage in a natural history museum.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/10/2025 21:07

I love it @Coaster1 and kept me gripped and guessing who the killer is

@Coaster1 unusual for me but a lot of them enjoyment for me was how ridiculous the set and the premise was .
I loved the who dunnit element which kept me n guessing.
For me it was a great mixture of pantomime and tension. Torture scene was jarring .

XelaM · 29/10/2025 08:52

I finished it. I thought it was pretty bad.

The whole concept of ten strangers on an island being killed off one by one they stole from Agatha Christie's "And then there were None". I highly recommend the film adaptation of it. It's infinitely better than this crappy series and has a very logical explanation and proper motive for the murders. I also didn't guess who the killer was in Agatha Christie's novel whereas in this series I did.

Surprised that people didn’t enjoy this. We loved it in our house. Yes a bit hammy, had to suspend belief at times, at least one massive plot hole that had me shouting at the tv but just really entertaining. I did guess the plot twists in advance but not massively so. Great tv.

I also absolutely loved this show. Watched the whole series in a couple of nights. The ending is epic. Enjoy to those who are still in progress.

Maybe because I love Agatha Christie's "And then there were none" which has an identical premise (but completely different conclusion and explanation). And the explanation in this series made little sense and I also guessed who it was before the end. Also hated Zach's wife who didn't even seem very sad her husband's plane crashed.

I also loved “And then there were none” and it’s been copied as a concept previously (because it’s so good!).

Like I said, there are plot holes, predictable parts and annoyances but I just found it entertaining. I think part of the reason I liked it so much was that we were able to watch it with the kids (14 and 11) and I struggle for stuff we can all watch together. The kids were gripped!

But yes, Zach’s wife seemed particularly calm about it all.
