I’ve been waiting for this

meant to be very good

The BBC has released the transmission date for Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue – the six-episode series from the mind of Anthony Horowitz.

Starts next Saturday

In the six-part series, a plane carrying a small group of passengers, crew and pilot, crashes in the Mexican jungle.

All the bodies are recovered and placed in a morgue… but it turns out that only one of them died in the crash.

The other passengers were murdered afterwards, each one in a unique way.

But by whom?

And why? As the story unfolds in flashback, we meet the survivors as they fight against the heat, a shortage of supplies, the many dangers of the jungle… and each other.

The setting becomes increasingly tense and claustrophobic as, one by one, they are dispatched with a series of shocks that bring us ever closer to the truth and – at the very end – a jaw-dropping reveal.

The ensemble cast includes Eric McCormack (Will & Grace, Perception), David Ajala (Star Trek: Discovery) as Zack; Lydia Wilson (The Swarm) as Sonja; Peter Gadiot (Yellowjackets) as Carlos; Siobhán McSweeney (Derry Girls) as Lisa; Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Tourist) as Travis; Adam Long (Happy Valley) as Dan, and Jan Le (The Capture) as Amy. Filming recently started in the Canary Islands.

I think Sonjia.

enjoyed it.

I recognize the wife of bearded man. Was she woman can’t kill as the daughter

She's Siobhan McSweeney - was in Derry girls and presents Great Pottery throwdown here and Traitors in Ireland. She's Irish and I was very impressed by her American accent. Enjoyed it.

purpleme12 · 28/09/2025 00:12

And in Nowhere Special and Holding

StElwicksNeighbourhoodAssociation · 28/09/2025 00:17

Just placemarking for when I can catch up.

She was also in Amandaland, maybe from there?

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/09/2025 09:24

Google is my friend @Wingedharpy. She is in Amandaland as Della the chef married to Fi and Amanda is in awe of her

I've watched it all, clearly no spoilers from me, and shall continue to watch again every Saturday, depending on social engagements. Superb Saturday night viewing. After episode one, I had no clue as to who, how or why.

purpleme12 · 28/09/2025 10:27

It must be good if you're planning on watching again each Saturday! 😆

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/09/2025 11:32

Tho surely if they had 10 passports and 9 bodies. U mess all badly burnt they could work out who the missing body is from matching up passports ?

The people at the base don't seem to have opened the body bags yet, which is odd, but maybe that's why.

I thought the scenes with Octavio in the cockpit were unconvincing, visually and acting wise, which was distracting. Reckon he was in on some kind of plot though. And who are the couple in the car with the binoculars?

Overall it was enjoyable and diverting and at least it's not going to go on for years and years and be a massive waste of everyone's time. Maybe will be the series that Lost should have been.

Chrysanthemum5 · 28/09/2025 12:06

I really enjoyed it. The staging did feel very theatre production but that is a minor point.

No idea who did what and I will join you in watching it at tv pace.

It took me a while to recognise the American MAGA man as Drummond from Severance.

SingingOcean · 28/09/2025 14:10

I also thought maybe it will be what Lost wasn't. It was the zooming in and out shots. I've only watched episode 1 and think the characters and set up are intriguing, but the script is pretty ropey.

My distraction was them all sat around on the ground. Surely they'd all be bitten to death in minutes?

Emori · 28/09/2025 17:30

Yes it was surprisingly pest-free, for a tropical rainforest.

havinalarf · 28/09/2025 17:47

Apart from the stunt snake that kept slithering by unnoticed a few times!

We differ here. I googled her as I thought she didn't sound genuinely American ! She's 45, which surprised me .

I missed the beginning so wasn't sure what was happening but soon caught up, it's looking good.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/09/2025 18:03

I never watched lost but from what people said it’s just as well that I didn’t 😂

I'm struggling with episode 2. It's getting quite silly and the script is getting worse.

Emori · 28/09/2025 18:59

Has anybody had a piss yet?

By the bye, I love McSweeney's character in Derry Girls - Sister Michael - and try to incorporate aspects of her into my approach to life.
