Yes, that New Cross one seemed a lot better. Not as ‘naive’ an area as Blackheath but trendier and close to Peckham and well connected.

New Cross is very different to Blackheath 😂but a decent choice for them for their first flat. They are young and probably don't mind the edgier vibe. I (and clearly Phil!!) would choose Blackheath over New Cross every time but I'm a lot older and looking for different things.

I hated all the houses in Surrey. None of them had a Greenwich feel. But as Kirsty said he was looking in the wrong place....

Rightmove has some lovely properties for their budget in Blackheath, even with a garden. Not sure why they showed them those ugly ones and one had a tiny kitchen, even if it flowed nicely🙄.

Also John was looking for the unicorn house. If he couldn't find what he wanted for that much in Surrey he'll never be happy.

John was strangest property hunter I have ever seen on LLL. I couldn't imagine him living in any of those houses - did he need a bedroom each for the daschunds? Why was he moving from Greenwich? To live with his mum? Was she paying? Was that why it had to be Surrey? Nothing about that property search rang true - I wasn't in the least bit surprised he didn't buy anything, I'm only surprised Kirsty wasn't more pissed off about what a complete waste of time it was. It couldn't even be classed as property porn for the 1.2 million budget. The most disappointing episode for some time.

Yes, I kept wondering why did this young single man want a large family home. Ridiculous!

it was a strange search, they usually show more than 3 houses don’t they, maybe they just knew none of the other houses they had found would be suitable but odd not to show them, it felt very short!

Agree it felt an odd episode. I didn't like any of the houses they showed him. Why didn't they show him more in Guildford/Virginia Water? There are some lovely areas with lovely character properties. He could go further afield and look at Wraysbury.

He won't get the Greenwich vibe in Surrey but he could get a similar but different vibe.

Also why show a single man a 5 bedroom house when that's not what he wanted.

Chobham is a bit too sleepy, it does have a great RSPCA rescue centre though!

I don’t usually watch the catch ups as it’s 50mins of repeat and then last few mins if what has happened

5 episodes to me isn’t a series

I think it's just quicker, cheaper and easier to edit down an old episode and then just film a couple of revisits. I don't mind them - it's quite interesting to see how they've extended and modified the house they bought (easy to talk about what you might do, more interesting to see what's actually been done). I had seen both these couples before, but long enough ago that I was happy to have a refresher.
