Do you remember Figgis ? And the doctor was the victor meldrew actor ? Can’t remember the name of the series they were permanently in hospital with Peter Bowles

It was "Only When I Laugh"

the80sweregreat · 13/08/2025 19:34

The hospital one was called ‘ only when I laugh ‘

Athreedoorwardrobe · 13/08/2025 19:36

I'm gonna get flamed for this because literally everyone i know loves it but.. I can't stand Spaced. And I've really tried but I just sit there straight faced wondering what everyone else is going on about when they wax lyrical over it.

tinytemper66 · 13/08/2025 19:37

Ditto MRs B boys. Rather poke pins in my eyes that watch that crap.

Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair · 13/08/2025 19:38

I don't like Spaced i think I was a bit too old for it.

CalzoneOnLegs · 13/08/2025 19:40

@Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair
GGG was appalling but I liked the male flatmate he had potential but just seemed to disappear. He was funnier than ‘Linda” (I think was her name)

the80sweregreat · 13/08/2025 19:40

I did like Ab fab. It was manic at times, but it could have some great comic timing especially Patsy. A kind of a posh Nessa!

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 13/08/2025 19:41

The Office. Controversial I know but I can’t watch it. I don’t find it funny at all.

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 13/08/2025 19:42

LlynTegid · 13/08/2025 19:05

The question should be what is the second worst comedy, based on the technicality that Mrs Brown's Boys is advertised as one.

There’s a late sprint from an unfancied competitor to cruise past Bread and put itself in the silver medal position…

…Never the Twain

CalzoneOnLegs · 13/08/2025 19:43

WomanOfSteel · 13/08/2025 19:19

Agree. Bob Loblaw. Judge Reinhold. Tobias as a mole. Driving around in airport stairs. Just cracks me up.

When Michael (JB) was looking at a sports car and the salesman said ‘you will get stares in this’ and he said so deadpan ‘it’s ok I’m used to stairs’ still cracks me up now 🤣🤣

suburburban · 13/08/2025 19:45

Definitely Mrs Brown’s boys.

just dreadful and that other one with the guy from ghosts and Alison Steadman which is constantly plugged every 2 seconds

Summer2025wow · 13/08/2025 19:45

Andy Parson ….. 3 hours I’ll never get back

CalzoneOnLegs · 13/08/2025 19:48

VERY Unpopular opinion…but Gavin and Stacey and Only Fools and Horses so ‘you must love it as it’s the BBC and thus a National Treasure’

Have to agree

CalzoneOnLegs · 13/08/2025 19:52

@suburburban thank you I am fully expecting a barrage of dissention

Iudncuewbccgrcb · 13/08/2025 19:53

It all went downhill when Graham Linehan got ostracised. Even if you don't like his comedy he set a bar for everyone else.

JifNtGif · 13/08/2025 19:53

I once switched on "Beat the internet with John Robins", truly one of the worst quiz shows I have ever seen. John is also a DJ on 5live in the drive time show and confirmed to be one of the worst 'comedians' I've ever heard. Both self-important and poorly educated!

LittlePigRobinson · 13/08/2025 19:57

MorrisZapp · 13/08/2025 14:55

Almost all sitcoms. That one with Lee Mack in it is excruciating.

😲😲😲
I love Not Going Out !!!

mumisfull · 13/08/2025 19:59

Everyone who dislikes Here We Go needs to sit on a fire ant hill. It’s wonderful and nonsense and ordinary all at once.

I watched a bit of a ‘Allo ‘Allo recently and my god, it was awful! I do quite enjoy saying ‘Good Moaning’ to people though, so I must have found it funny at some point!

I didn’t like that one either

CalzoneOnLegs · 13/08/2025 19:27

Nope ! Not for me I never want to hear about a dead parrot or a shoebox again, luckily it’s been forgotten about

Not forgotten about in this house. Deceased critters are referred to as ‘pining for the Fjords’.

Here We Go with Alison Steadman and Jim Howick. It's interesting seeing a few people saying this, I thought the first couple of series were great but the latest one was utterly dire. Nearly gave up on it but preserved in case it improved.
It didn't.

DeirdreChambersWhatACoincidence · 13/08/2025 20:02

I like Allo Allo. But then I like silly.

CalzoneOnLegs · 13/08/2025 20:03

@TheAmpleGreyMoose aaaaw….I personally could never be so irreverent about a dead pet, not to mention tired cliches from MP but as a coping mechanism it’s fairly acceptable I suppose
