Loved the Likely Lads and amazing theme tune and credits. Poor Thelma though.

What a shame the two leading actors fell out and never made up before one of them died.

Definitely a contender for the best TV theme tune.

I have such fond memories of watching it with my dad when it was first on in the 60s. He died when I was 12 and it's probably as close as we got to enjoying something like two adults. Precious.

Nothing has lived up to The Likely Lads. My favourite of all time.

I actually get so nostalgic about that programme it makes me tear up 😭 so many childhood memories.

Yes, it’s sad that the two actors in ‘ the likely lads ‘ fell out.

I can't remember anyone who was just perfect in the part. Audrey was perfect. Yes shame they weren't friends.

I hate Love Actually so much that I actually forgot about Bill Nighy was in it… 😂

Heathen! 😂😂

the80sweregreat · 13/08/2025 18:48

Terry was such a cynic! He did make me laugh

I meant I can't think of anyone who wasn't perfect.

The question should be what is the second worst comedy, based on the technicality that Mrs Brown's Boys is advertised as one.

Growlybear83 · 13/08/2025 19:11

Dinner ladies and anything with Victoria Wood or Dawn French in.

Lorrymum · 13/08/2025 19:17

I think our comedic tastes change over the years.
DH and I loved The Young Ones in the 1980's. We managed to track down a DVD of it and were excited to watch it again. We both watched one episode in total silence and gave the DVD to a charity shop the following morning!

I have to protest, the first 4 seasons of Arrested Development are probably the funniest television ever made. It literally makes me weep with laughter.

Agree. Bob Loblaw. Judge Reinhold. Tobias as a mole. Driving around in airport stairs. Just cracks me up.

Cyclistmumgrandma · 13/08/2025 19:20

Catherine Tate "Queen of Oz"
"Here We Go" What a waste of an excellent cast.

Athreedoorwardrobe · 13/08/2025 19:23

Little Britain

I always thought it was just nasty in a really unintelligent way. Lik On the Buses type of nasty punching down nonsense without any vintage appeal.
Literally just making fun of people who are unlikely to be able to complain and feeding into generally accepted prejudices and phobias with no examination if any of it.
Also fucking catchphrases galore!

CalzoneOnLegs · 13/08/2025 19:23

old hat but I always hated Monty Python and the utter bores that would do endless quotes, same goes for Little Britain ‘computer says no’ etc so tedious

That’s was good as it was pathos, like Steptoe and Son

Some of Monty Python has stood the test of time and is still v funny in my opinion.
Quite a lot of it is tedious then you'll come across a sketch that seems so modern and is still genuinely funny and subversive

Nope ! Not for me I never want to hear about a dead parrot or a shoebox again, luckily it’s been forgotten about

Judiezones · 13/08/2025 19:28

Friends. The big bang theory. Both awful.

CurlewKate · 13/08/2025 19:28

Mrs Browns Boys. Nobody likes it-they only pretend.

@DareDevil223 I love arrested development 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Violetparis · 13/08/2025 19:32

Absolutely Fabulous - Jennifer Saunders character was just annoying.
The one with Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner in as parents to 3 awful kids.

Do you remember Figgis ? And the doctor was the victor meldrew actor ? Can’t remember the name of the series they were permanently in hospital with Peter Bowles
