Anyone planning on watching this?

Rob Brydon hosts as contestants are driven around Europe in a blacked out bus, trying to guess where they are. I’ve seen clips of the US Version, it might be good!

The red herring clues are just pointless. Stupid idea, they need to just make more of the proper clues and stop pissing about trying to fool people who can’t see the wood for the trees.

SwedishEdith · 21/08/2025 22:03

The red herrings are very tedious. Not sure how you could ever decipher which are relevant and which aren't.

CrushingOnRubies · 21/08/2025 22:03

There was a lot of red herrings in that episode

But as soon as they showed that postcode it was 100% Pisa and saskia was right there was a lot of balancing things this week

NCTDN · 21/08/2025 22:06

Tbf I think that Saskia is playing a good game and she’s the only one with any clue where they were.

flightoftheconkers · 21/08/2025 22:06

And still Claire couldn't work out the relevance of the postcard picture when she's stood right in front of the tower! Shame there wasn't a predictable tourist demonstrating the pose for her.

Surprised Rob wasn’t there to greet her whilst doing the pose

the80sweregreat · 21/08/2025 22:09

Daren is in Josh’s sight now. He isn’t a happy bunny.

SwedishEdith · 21/08/2025 22:11

Saskia seemed to get Pisa out of nowhere though other than the tenuous leaning towers game. I'm ungenerous enough towards her to think she might not have even heard of the leaning tower of Pisa. Josh only got it from Saskia. It's si frustrating how none of them seem to have that real grasp of where they could realistically be and discuss the potential locations with knowledge.

KassandraOfSparta · 21/08/2025 22:13

The weird concrete pod buildings are in an observatory on the Cote D'Azur so looks like they are headed back into France - Monaco or even into NE Spain possibly if they are not repeating countries?

5foot5 · 21/08/2025 22:16

KassandraOfSparta · 21/08/2025 21:59

It wasn't a difficult clue. Claire and Darren are thick. Judith is one of those people who is academic, but thick.

After Nick left I was rooting for Claire or Judith. However I was so frustrated with Judith tonight. She found that MASSIVE super simple clue to Pisa and didn't get it. She must have never done a crossword in her life. And when she described it to Claire she just mentioned Pi and completely overlooked the "As returned " bit. If she had told Claire that bit maybe she would have spotted it.

the80sweregreat · 21/08/2025 22:19

Nick wouid have got the Pi clue.

InMyOpenOnion · 21/08/2025 22:21

Judith pushing the tower is my moment of the series so far 🤣.

NightSweatsNinja · 21/08/2025 22:23

Finding it hard to see how Saskia got it right just from building towers. Something seems amiss (fixed?).

Too many misdirects, and the bottle clues on the shoreline could have been missed by everyone. It spoils the enjoyment of the game. They should remove the red herrings imo. I thought the challenges were all about the X where they're heading, not 'along the way'.

It does seem that way

the80sweregreat · 21/08/2025 22:25

Maybe a lot of their ‘ musings ‘ are edited out ? They must have hours to ponder the clues, maybe more chit chat than we actually hear ?

InMyOpenOnion · 21/08/2025 22:25

I already disliked Josh but his arrogance at the end when we saw him finding out that Daren didn't share the clue was astounding. He saw Nick as a "worthy" adversary so when he did anything underhand to Josh it was acceptable competition. But he clearly thinks Daren is beneath him, so he's disgusted that someone so "lowly" would dare to double-cross him. Such arrogance.

DieSchottin93 · 21/08/2025 22:26

I'm also finding it a bit suspicious that Saskia seems to suddenly have a great geographical knowledge. Didn't she say just yesterday at the start of the show she's had struggled to point out Germany on a map or something like that?

ChompandaGrazia · 21/08/2025 22:27

The bottle clues were silly. What was the one with the numbers?
Yes the tourist pose was obvious but only if you already had an idea about Pisa.

SwedishEdith · 21/08/2025 22:29

You'd think after the Paul/Pula anagram clue they'd be alert to them and looking for anagrams everywhere. So Judith, recognising it was Pi straightaway (and not just a Greek letter as some of the others and probably me might have just thought) and then not thinking about the rest of the clue is so maddening.

That was madness. Of course she knows pi but why not the rest of the clue. Share it if you don’t understand.

Karmaisagod · 21/08/2025 22:40

Does anybody else get the feeling as if Saskia had inside information? How did she get it right without the PI AS Returned or the postcard clues? This keeps happening - she often seems to pull the name out of thin air at the eleventh hour.

I posted before I saw your message. I agree.

yes episode one she was the first to admit that she knew nothing about about European geography.

Josh is arrogant

Piggywaspushed · 21/08/2025 23:19

Saskia said she revised before going on the show though and she is obviously a sharp cookie.

I thought the Piran vs San Marino ticket was because it was Pi vs SA!
