I'm hopeful, though, for lots of reasons. Even the finale of this uber-crap couldn't knock the Doc out of the Top 30 or below 5 million, which is a small miracle when you see what happened to "Casualty". And let's face it, "Britain's Got No Talent" will be forgotten by the end of the summer, whereas Who gets half-a-dozen BBC3 repeats and two separate DVD releases.

DirtySexyMummy · 01/06/2008 13:53

Really purpleflower? Oh my god, that is insane. If you do you should send that in, as as far as I know he did claim to make it up himself.

Is it honestly exactly the same?

unknownrebelbang · 01/06/2008 13:54

I've never liked Dr Who.

Used to scare me as a child.

purpleflower · 01/06/2008 14:58

Yes it is DSM, even down to the outfit. They sat watching it on weds and realised they knew him. As soon as it finished they got out the DVD and compared it. I'm not sure if they are going to do anything about it yet but I know the family are not very happy. The dance won the original comp and all entrants were given a DVD of the show. I really hope they do go to the BBC.

Beetroot · 01/06/2008 14:59

violinists were average imo

Beetroot · 01/06/2008 15:00

I could show you kids of 12 who are better violinists and cello players

DirtySexyMummy · 01/06/2008 15:19

I wouldn't go to the BBC, it was an STV show

Freckle · 01/06/2008 15:22

Yes but kids who are better violinists don't have legs up to their armpits and lucious locks to toss around whilst playing .

Raahh · 01/06/2008 15:35

am i wrong in thinking that the violinists were not the hugely original thing the judges kept raving about? there was definitely an almost identical girl group a few years back...

Raahh · 01/06/2008 15:37

i think they were called bond

purpleflower · 01/06/2008 15:46

DSM I only watched it once and it wasn't me that put it on.

UnquietDad · 01/06/2008 15:53

Bond

Raahh · 01/06/2008 15:58

that's them!

UnquietDad · 01/06/2008 16:40

Everyone loved them for their glissandos and arpeggios, of course. The tight leather trousers and flicked tresses didn't come into it...

maidamess · 01/06/2008 16:58

I thought the violinists were dull dull dull. Nothing special, and I'm sure I heard a couple of duff notes. But Piers, Amanda and Simon are hardly the experts on whats original, are they?

Freckle · 01/06/2008 17:02

I did a link to Bond yesterday. Glad to see I wasn't the only one to spot Escala's lack of originality. I can't believe that Simon was unaware of their existence.

Raahh · 01/06/2008 17:09

oops, sorry freckle, didn't se your link! But i only started to watch it this week, and they were one of the last acts- i was shocked by how ott the panels comments were. As the manager of a classical vocal group, Il Divo, Simon MUST know who Bond are!

Meandmyjoe · 01/06/2008 17:20

Anyone else a little peed of that all the other acts had to perform something new and different to their other performances yet George was able to regurgitate the same dance routine from the semi finals and the judges never even questioned it! I think the lad is talented but I highly doubt it was an original dance that he choreographed. Yes he can dance but he had a lot more time to reherse that ONE dance than the others who had to do new ones.

wheresthehamster · 01/06/2008 17:24

If the rules are the same as last year then the acts had to do something different for the semis but in the final were free to choose either of their previous routines or a completely new one.

christywhisty · 01/06/2008 17:41

Meandmyjoe

I posted further up, but on the Friday night Britains Got more talent (the after show on ITV2) They mentioned that George hadn't been able to practice his routine to music as they were doing a mix of two songs and they hadn't got it ready yet. That was late Friday night. Sounds like they didn't finish it yet.
Also not very fair on the ones in the semi's at the end of the week only having one or two days to rehearse their final act whereas the ones at the beginning of the week had 5 days

wannaBe · 01/06/2008 18:00

well, for anyone under the ilusion that all the acts go through the same audition process, have a look at

this

"Favourites Scala are already an established professional act - and they even performed at last year's X Factor wrap party." so presuming simon cowell or at least one of his ilk was there it's not as if they were unknown to him.

"And the group was invited to enter Britain's Got Talent by ITV1 producers after the X Factor do last year.". so even if they went through the numerous auditions they were already known to the production teams. there was no way they weren't going to get through.

I don't think it states anywhere that you're not allowed to be a professional act, so in that sense they haven't done anything wrong, but the rest just confirms that it's all highly suspect, and that it's very unlikely anyone ever gets a fair audition.

Beetroot · 01/06/2008 18:04

yes of course - the legs and the blond hari not the playing

lottiejenkins · 01/06/2008 18:04

Faryl and Andrew sang the same things that they did in the semi finals too!!! Not just George!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

wannaBe · 01/06/2008 18:09

no Andrew sang "you raise me up" in the semi finals but the song he sang last night in his audition. ditto Faryl - she did't sing that song in her smil final.

lottiejenkins · 01/06/2008 18:10

he didnt he sung tears in heaven in semi final..............
