Thought I’d sound the KLAXON and round everyone up for some Strictly chat about possible/rumoured contestants. They usually start announcing soon!

I’ve heard Dani Dyer, Stacey Solomon, Ashley Cain and Tom Parker Bowles

Well it would also clash with the season but the swimmers, gymnasts etc that have done then gone back to competing are different to those in team sports.

We might get Jill Scott though but she did I’m A Sleb so maybe Strictly isnt for her?

Ah sorry. Hadn't realised Mary Earps had retired from international only. Her contract with Paris Saint-Germain is until next June at least, so wiki tells me. I had read she'd retired (presumably did not want to be benched?) and thought that meant all football.

No problem for not knowing it was international retirement only. I would love to see one of the current crop of Lionesses do it but it would have to be after they finish playing.

I think there’s not a chance after his kissing the other contestant off I’m a Celeb.

Danny jones is on The voice which i think runs on a saturday night same time of year as Stricrly he wouldn't do Strictly.

Meh. I like her dad but he gets asked every year and won't, so this is like a Tilly Ramsay, isn't it?

She does do some presenting on radio I think but yeah a very thin claim to fame. Other Love Island girls have done it though she’s no less famous than Zara or Tasha perhaps more so in fact!

Nice to see some fresh blood in the Pros.

I have to agree about Amy - she's lovely and I wish her all the best, but her choreography is noticeably not on par with the other pros. She also has an affectation that she does with her hand in every ballroom routine and it really grates on me for some reason. It's very irrational and totally my problem!

We need an "older lady" for the line up, in the Toyah/Angela/Debbie oeuvre.

As I said upthread, I'd like a member of the Ghosts/Horrible Histories troupe - Matthew Baynton was fab on Taskmaster recently.

They will definitely be trying to get a Lioness on the show.

As I am listening to Cabin Pressure for the millionth time, I'd love to see any of the cast appear - Stephanie Cole, Roger Allum, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Finnemore and honourable mention to Anthony Stewart-Head, though I don't know if he's involved in the Buffy reboot.

Did not want him to win tbh although I liked him as Carwash in the Masked Dancer. I just never bought into any chemistry between him and Flavia. She just seemed to be mothering him throughout the series.
Still think Denise should have won it on the freestyle alone.

You must be thinking of another athlete rubies as gymnasts on Strictly and DWTS have always done well on the show. We had Louis and Claudia. Stateside had eight gymnasts, two (Shawn and Laurie) won.

I seem to remember though it is some time ago, that Louis’ win felt like a forgone conclusion

We had two athletic massive first boots, which were unexpected...Tom Dean last year (the blonde rower) and Martina Hingis, years ago (the tennis player).

Another gymnast Rhys won DWTS Ireland this year. So yes, get Max! He's young enough, fit enough and his six year old can win BabyWarz!

I can't remember who was in the final with Louis Smith I want to say Simon from Blue but that might have been another year. I was annoyed at Louis's show dance it was just gymnastics which is fine for actual gymnastic.competition

Just saw Nikita and female pros all gasping at the new pros on my Instagram. Hilarious given they're probably a direct threat to them getting a place . Same as all the Welcome to the Family comments. Surely, they're really thinking marbles, Showgirls stylee!! [twirls moustache] 20 pros - twenty! - is too many.

She stood a chance of winning the Xmas one but Katie Derham won with Brendan.
