Thought I’d sound the KLAXON and round everyone up for some Strictly chat about possible/rumoured contestants. They usually start announcing soon!

I’ve heard Dani Dyer, Stacey Solomon, Ashley Cain and Tom Parker Bowles

I think vicky will win, she did well in all the other reality tv she's done.

Ellie has dancing ability as she had street dance (?)lessons. Her teacher posted their routines.
Dani and Vicky will be competing for who's the most down to earth #dednormal #nerves, along the Gemma/Abbey narrative.

I only know her from Josh must win. She was okay in that, got along with Grimmy and Pete Wicks.
She knows the business, I give her her due. But some hardcore voters on Tattle aren't going for it, as apparently she wasn't as amiable on GS? I've never seen it so wouldn't know 🤷🏼‍♀️

Geordie shore was insane and I think Vicky has tried her hardest to not be the girl who shagged on tv ! I don't mind her i only watched her on im a celebrity she was nice enough, I don't know the shelf life of reality stars they have to try and stay relevant don't they?

@SequinsandSoleros on his podcast with Marina Hyde, I think he is going for most relatable/high voting base.

With regard to Geordie Shore, I never watched it but I heard one of them (Marnie?) talk about their contracts on CBB. Sooo grim.

She did on Geordie shore yes, she has tried to erase it saying she is a different person now which tbf she probably is.

@ThePoshUns the contracts they were under on Geordie Shore were disgusting but she was young and naive and maybe didn’t realise the full implications of what she’d signed on to

I’d never heard of Dani, Vicky and Ellie before this month so they’ll probably end up being my favourites! Usually happens like that, with the exception of Annabel Croft who was my pick from week 1 and who I definitely knew prior to SCD, as a tennis fan.

Vicky won IACGMOOH in 2015 and has a radio show on Heart, I would say her media background is typical strictly contestant as she aims to move from "loose women" level shows to "One Show" early evening etc and in radio to a daytime week day slot.

Just catching up. I have trouble accessing Mumsnet now as it makes my tablet run very slowly, but I now have computer access for the next week or so.

I've received the BBC Shows and Tours email this afternoon saying applying for tickets for the main shows has just opened

No idea what any of them are up to these days but Keith Duffy was a good sport on Celebrity Chase many years ago.

Keith Duffy (Boyzone) and Brian McFadden (Westlife) are now touring as Boyzlife. They have tour dates during Strictly so wouldn't have been available this year.

During a previous tour they invited a local society in each venue (I assume) to be an on-stage backing choir for their final song, which honoured Stephen Gately, a member of Boyzone who died in 2009. They had their own backing singers for the whole concert as well.

When they were in my town I was lucky enough to be one of those (randomly) chosen from my society. We were treated so well. The tour manager took lots of photos when we were on stage and shared them afterwards. Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden were so polite, they introduced themselves and shook hands with us all before the show, and thanked us and shook hands afterwards. They also waved to us several times during the show when we were watching from a balcony side-stage. What an evening to remember.

That's nuts. None of them have performed yet.

I agree @MyDadWasAnArse that first night of dance really sets the tone, they are unknown quantities til then.

This year I've only applied to Elstree, although in the past I've applied to Blackpool as well.

Like you, I never get tickets.

I doubt there are that many tickets, seem to get given to friends, family and hangers on.

I applied for Elstree a few weeks ago but was rejected.

'Rejected' is a bit harsh on yourself - you just weren't randomly selected. Don't take it personally I have applied for the majority of Elstree show for at least the last 15 years with no joy.

Oh yes, I definitely used the wrong too emotional word. It's fine! I have seen a lot of the Strictly dancers anyway.

I just got a mental image of someone going through a list of people that had applied for tickets going 'oh no not her' and putting your application in the bin.

I finally had some joy at Wimbledon last year after years of applying so I still believe my Strictly day will come. 🤞it will be in time to take my lovely Mum.

My sister has gone twice. One time she applied, another a friend of hers. I’ve been to the tour so not completely jealous!
