I’m getting snacks and drinks in and watching the whole thing while pretending I’m 12 again. Can’t wait for the Quo to kick it off in half an hour! Anyone else gonna watch?

Baby Andy Kershaw…

Raahh · 12/07/2025 18:54

Andy Kershaw with his very 80s hair do.

Seeline · 12/07/2025 18:54

How clever was that logo for live aid? Brilliant and simple.

JaneJeffer · 12/07/2025 18:55

Probably not many cameras either @PuppyMonkey

NooNakedJacuzziness · 12/07/2025 18:55

Glad I found you ❤️Spandau

Theeyeballsinthesky · 12/07/2025 18:56

Mr eyeballs is out so I can watch the whole thing in peace and remember 😁

I’d really recommend the ‘Just for One day’ musical in London. Superb. It’s gets the feel of the 80s and how momentous it was all , but also views it through modern eyes as well.

There’s an anniversary performance tomorrow, wonder if any Live Aid performers will go. Agree it’s brilliant show.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 12/07/2025 18:56

Loving the arm dancing by the backing singers!

DryDay · 12/07/2025 18:56

What’s with all this prancing about in leather maxi coats? Was that a thing?
First Midge and now Tony. They look like Nazis.

TheFinePrintess · 12/07/2025 18:57

Ooh Spandau!😍 I’m still waiting for Martin Kemp to declare his undying love for me (as he frequently did in my daydreams)

PuppyMonkey · 12/07/2025 18:57

Tony’s voice sounds great, have to say.

SpottyAardvark · 12/07/2025 18:57

And not a phone in sight. Because the accursed things didn’t exist, obv. We have so lost being in the moment at live entertainment.

SwedishEdith · 12/07/2025 18:58

Tony Hadley has a belter of a voice as well. I remember the NME describing it as a pompous foghorn. They definitely started with the weaker acts to build it up. I missed U2 and Queen.

Definitely agree, can’t bear it when you see stuff on tv and it’s all just a crowd of arms outstretched with phones recording!

I went to a Rewind festival and he and the guy from Go West did a fabulous version of Sex on Fire! Both of them sounded amazing.

JaneJeffer · 12/07/2025 18:59

I loved Steve Norman. He still looks really good Grin

SwedishEdith · 12/07/2025 19:00

Steve Norman was quite hot in this sense 😍

That’s only because they have no lighters Grin

I doubt they all brought water bottles either!

It was definitely a ' look' back then. Quite like it myself.😁

Crowds were hardy then 😁 there’s hardly a hat/sun shade in sight and I bet no factor 50 😆

BlessicaBlimpson · 12/07/2025 19:06

I took a photo of Steve Norman's Live Aid hair on TV and then took it to the hair salon (which was inside Virgin Megastore Confused) for the stylist to copy. I was 12 Smile

CarefulN0w · 12/07/2025 19:06

Not sure I’d call Paul Weller a weak act Grin
