I’m getting snacks and drinks in and watching the whole thing while pretending I’m 12 again. Can’t wait for the Quo to kick it off in half an hour! Anyone else gonna watch?

I was 4. So my Mum would have been 43-two years younger than I am now. I don’t remember it but she said it was brilliant.
Just put this on now and I’m really enjoying it. Im struck by how good the singing is. Just shows that to be a pop star in the 80’s you had to have actual talent! I thought the young Madonna was great. And she looked gorgeous.

I don't think people realise how powerful David's voice is live, it never transfers well on tape.

His voice can pierce the air, really powerful for such a skinny guy.

It isn't just Freddie though when you listen to it. All the band can properly play and fill the stadium. They might be playing their whole set. A lot of the earlier artists' sets were shortened.

Everyone got 20 minutes. Queen were clever enough to do a medley to fit more songs in.
U2 did two songs :/

From what I remember George duets with Elton.
Andrew does backing vocals somewhere.
Wham don’t appear as Wham, but memory is a bit sketchy. Seen Wham and George live, but don’t think it was Live Aid.

I mean tonight. They haven't shown the entirety of every performance. If you look on eg Wikipedia it shows what was played and some artists have had a song or two cut. Queen's set was shown in its entirety.

Yeah the original UK part was 10 hours, and they've crammed it into 7 hours tonight so some stuff's got to have been cut.
