I’m getting snacks and drinks in and watching the whole thing while pretending I’m 12 again. Can’t wait for the Quo to kick it off in half an hour! Anyone else gonna watch?

Music can be very subjective but I've yet to meet someone who doesn't like Freddie.

MissAmbrosia · 12/07/2025 21:38

I feel quite emotional now

Yep... me too.

When I went to see the Bohemian Rhapsody biopic I cried all the way through the last 20 minutes, where they recreated the Live Aid performance.

I cried last night watching the Days of Our Lives video, too. Dear Freddie ❤️

The songs they wrote for that last album are heartbreaking

NooNakedJacuzziness · 12/07/2025 21:39

Wouldn't want to be whoever had to follow Queen

NooNakedJacuzziness · 12/07/2025 21:39

Wouldn't want to be whoever had to follow Queen

Think it was Bowie and he called Freddie a bastard !

Shetlands · 12/07/2025 21:40

Best live performance ever - RIP Freddy.

Munchyseeds2 · 12/07/2025 21:41

Nobody compares now really

Lovingmayo · 12/07/2025 21:41

I think it was after queen the money started rolling in

Kaftanesque · 12/07/2025 21:42

DH and I saw Queen in 86 .I believe it was thei last major tour as Freddie was obviously becoming sick nit long after. They were amazing live.

tryingtobesogood · 12/07/2025 21:42

I’m loving Queen, they’ve lifted the whole stadium. He owns that crowd

dewfirst · 12/07/2025 21:42

Just cannot believe this was 40 years ago

Middlemarch123 · 12/07/2025 21:42

Wasn’t a huge Queen fan, but Freddie was such a showman, what a tragic loss.

dewfirst · 12/07/2025 21:43

Danced the day away and now I’m a pensioner🤣🤣🤣

tryingtobesogood · 12/07/2025 21:43

I was 18. Oh to have the energy I had back then

SpottyAardvark · 12/07/2025 21:43

Both sides of Queen’s music here. The musical theatre style of Radio GaGa followed by proper rock n roll of Hammer to fall. Brian’s guitar is amazing as ar his & Roger’s vocal harmonies.

rockstarshoes · 12/07/2025 21:44

Freddie ❤️❤️❤️

SwedishEdith · 12/07/2025 21:44

This is the first time I've seen the complete Queen performance. What star quality he had.

The war itself had a pen fetch + men away at war didn’t start having children 7ntil much later. Look, I can see lots of people didn’t have parents in the war, but I did and so did several of my friends.

Sorry phone going weird. Had an effect.

cardibach · 12/07/2025 21:46

thenightsky · 12/07/2025 21:31

Yep. I went to the Stones in Roundhay Park in Leeds in 1983. I'd done a full night shift as a student nurse the night previous. Got to the park at 11am. Managed to not drink or need a wee till 9pm. I was fine.

Stadiums have toilets though. You just have to take note of where your friends are and work your way back!

BrightLightTonight · 12/07/2025 21:46

Saw Queen live @ Knebworth prior to this - Freddie was “The Greatest Showman”. Loved him forever xx

Jibberjabba · 12/07/2025 21:46

Freddie still missed after all these years and a talent that shall never be forgotten

Tudorduxbury · 12/07/2025 21:46

Wasn’t Freddie not well that day too ?

HurdyGurdy19 · 12/07/2025 21:47

I believe Queen never played Bohemian Rhapsody in full, live. They felt they couldn't do it justice. When I went to see them they played the first bit, left the stage for the Scaramouche bit, and returned for the end.

Anyone else who saw them - did they play BR in full at your gig?

Jellykat · 12/07/2025 21:47

tryingtobesogood · 12/07/2025 21:43

I was 18. Oh to have the energy I had back then

We can remember all the words though! So mentally still there Grin
