Totally this! My kids are early 20s and quite like their 80s music (mainly thanks to Tiktok), and they are amazed by this.

Late to the party, but bloody hell where did those 40 years go???!
I was 21 at the time, and remember being glued to the telly the whole time with the Sitting room window wide open.. the street was quiet, every house around me was watching it seemed!

I certainly did! My mum, born in the 1930s and cursed (from her point of view) with dead straight hair, started perming it as soon as she could afford to. She started nagging me to perm my hair, also dead straight, as soon as I was in my teens. In a weak moment I gave way eventually. Unfortunately got married during that period. Rarely look at the wedding photos!
