A thread to discuss the addictive and bingeable DCC series. Series 2 out today.

Reece wasn't doing the baby voice in series 2. I guess now she's married she doesn't have to display her purity any more.

And Kellie (who does most of the talking) just skirts around the issue. She wastes time telling the girl how pretty she is, and how much everyone loves her.

She speaks to them as though she’s giving them a last chance to impress them.
Whereas, she should be professional and direct, and simply tell the woman what’s what.
The cheerleader will still be upset, of course, there’s no getting around that, but getting straight to the point is better for the cheerleader.

I still don’t know why those 3 random men took a tour of the changing room?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

They were on a full tour of the stadium. They probably saw the footballers one as well.

She basically told the world and his wife that Chandi slept with a man while they were all on holiday.
They wanted to keep it all hush hush, and Kellie and Judy want to desperately maintain the ‘American Sweetheart’ (ie: chaste) label.

Not a young, single, beautiful woman who simply had a one night stand while on vacation.

Judy has 40 years under her belt, and her ‘family won’t let her retire’, apparently.

I’ve been watching the 1st series. They all seem to be so pressured all of the time - I’d like to see Kelli and Judi have deputies to take some of the pressure off, and for them to go back to 37 dancers, not 36. But of course that would mean the Jones family having to invest more money, and that is the bottom line here. Glad they eventually got a raise though!

Given the classic reason to resign/retire is “to spend more time with my family”, I can see why Judi’s family might want her to carry on.

The physical stress these beautiful young women are put under is terrifying. The lack of self worth some of them have about themselves is really disappointing. Nice to see Jada being so self positive

She’s the whole package.

Is Judi not well? She looks a lot less 'herself' in season 2. Especially in the last episode.

Judi has an autoimmune disease so it's probably just that. Hopefully nothing more serious.

IIRC they got $500 per show which is nothing considering the amount of time they have to put into practicing and maintaining their looks and figure. Especially as the Cowboys are incredibly rich.

I guess it's a status thing. In the first series one of the dancers who missed out on a place said something like 'I'm no longer an elite American woman now'. It was a sign that you had made it, that you were someone. Almost cult like really.

Ahhh I watched the millions of Making the Team series while breastfeeding I’ve been holding off watching this (mainly because I have a toddler now) but it sounds very different!!

Jada came across so well, just brilliant. So strong and fair and smart. She would make an excellent president!

The US does seem to specialise in the ‘are they really that stupid, or are they an evil genius?’ types. Just think of Donald Trump.

I loved Jada. She’s so articulate, such a good advocate, can see through the bullshit, and isn’t afraid to say something that’s unpopular.

I really want her to be the union rep in my workplace!

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit oooh I'm going to have to watch, I watched some series but not many! It will be interesting to see Judy and Kelly before they had to tone down the body shaming, from what I remember they used to be very critical of any of the girls who may have put on a few lbs.

yeah I saw an episode last night where they told a perfectly slim girl she looked like she’d gained 10 lbs!
