Have started a second thread in case the other one runs out

She had a harder space. The kitchen is a bit bland but the dining and lounge are nicer than johns

Just a BIT more and it would have been fine. I think she's lost it and I'm gutted.

love those bedsides though.

I think the kitchen might lose it for her.

Rita’s bedroom looks very 1930s to me.

For me she’s beat him on everything except the kitchen. Neither of their halls were nice. But Sophie liked the orange!!

Apart from the orange gloss woodchip, Rita has done a great job.

I’m behind somewhat but John’s single room looks like my bedroom from the 80s.
Rita’s orange staircase looks dreadful.

I don't think Rita is going to win, which I'm surprised about as think she is more John Lewis.

Didn't realise Rita was Lebanese. Thought she was Spanish.

She won upstairs and he won downstairs and I had a feeling that Sophie would like the hallway and she's right that it's durable.

Yes Rita’s kitchen and John’s large bedroom had weak areas but overall I like Rita’s best

I think that the kitchen is the least important room in the house, BUT, I think if she's just put a bit of the colour from the dining room - which I loved - into the kitchen. In fact I forgot how much I loved that room.

Nice day out for the rest of the cast. I’m jealous.

blimey - shocked he won. his timekeeping alone was quite shite wasn't it at the start.

Blimey. Well I have to say I feel quite disappointed in that decision.

But he did learn on the time management.

And he didn’t paint woodchip with gloss paint.

And John, you're not an interior designer. You won a competition. You'll still have to work as a teacher.

And clearly no one has gone on to bigger and greater things because there's no "what they're doing now".

all those booted out earlier must be kicking themselves because he managed to be rubbish except for the last two and they could have all had that experience if they’d stayed in!!!

I think I would prefer a format with few designers but they stay in for the whole run - maybe just the final whittles it down to the best two

He’s a perfectly nice chap but I think tbh he was rather lucky not to leave the competition much earlier in the series - overall I do think Rita is the better designer. Sorry, John 😬

I thought his bedroom was cosy though.

I hated how Rita kept all the wood chip even though it was quite damaged in places. I know it would have been tough to remove but the colours she used just highlighted how bad it was. And those horrible black chairs that were all cracked!

Plus the kitchen looked so cheap why didn't she replace the laminate worktops?

So I didn't love John's cottage but at least it felt finished

Although his gargoyle wallpaper would give children nightmares

John's kitchen was very nice, and I liked the master bedroom. But his living room would give me a headache.

Michelle, in her comments, was so pro-John. I knew he would win.
