Huw Miller (Watkins) retired from the police force with one major career regret: failing to catch the so-called Ripton Stalker, who would torment his victims before ultimately murdering them.

When an enigmatic stranger named Patrick Harbottle (Green) moves in next door, Huw starts to think that the criminal who eluded him for so many years might now be operating right under his nose.

The synopsis reads: "As Huw attempts to settle into retirement, the case is never far from his mind – and when new neighbour Patrick Harbottle (Green) moves in and utters the chilling phrase 'catch you later' – the sign-off the stalker used to taunt Huw during the investigation –

Huw is determined he’s finally got his man.
"What follows is a high stakes game of psychological chess between the two neighbours as Huw’s world begins to crumble around him.

"Unable to bear the guilt of the stalker taking another victim under his nose, Huw risks everything to unearth the truth.

I got the impression they didn’t like him tbh

His wife was really upset at his behavior, I assume the daughter doesn’t see them because of how he behaved over it all. Sounds as if he had a break down.

My, that Robson Green has aged well, hasn't he?

My money is on the retired cop being right and Patrick being an evil stalker.

I can remember a bit of scandal around Robson Green in the 90s and his love life, so I’ve never been much of a fan really , but he has kept his looks and not a bad actor.

Yes that stare from the balcony whilst Huw wibbled opposite was quite chilling.

I do hope Huw Is the hero and all his sneery ex colleagues end up applauding him.

Or else he is just a bit neurotic and paranoid and he'll have another breakdown..

Maybe ( only a very big guess here ) the detective was the actual Ripton stalker ? Maybe too obvious though

My thought was my goodness, Robson Green has aged! Not bad looking though.
Huw reminds me of Nick Owen, newsreader/tv presenter.

I do like Jason Watkins , he is a good solid actor.

Yes, I wondered if he is simply winding Jason W up. The most unlikely bit for me was the woman marching up to Patrick and flirting outrageously with him, when she knew nothing about him! I thought the twist might be that they were actually old friends having a joke, but obviously not.

The flirty neighbour is bound to be a victim eventually! ( definitely not a spoiler , but I do fear she may end up in hot water )
She did have some front.

Tho her husband ignored her naked for 30m as she is demanding

This quite good so far for Ch 5 ! Huw is coming across as paranoid , but is he right about Robson G or will there be some double bluffs .

I thought Robson Green looked good but was so smug. Not loving this so far

A ballerina. So are we meant to think he’s the killer

Patrick is incredibly smug.
He knew that Huw wouldn’t dare take a photo of the ballerina whilst he was around and therefore no proof he ever had it. Poor Ruth is already fragile and now this happens :(

I found this yesterday and watched both episodes, now have tonight and tomorrow, so no time at all to wait, excellent.

Coming in off the back of three series of Absentia, it made a good change. Am also fascinated by the houses 😄

It appears his obsession led to him having a breakdown, that was probably difficult for his colleagues. But it was sad there was only one person having a farewell drink with him.
