In the crowd for a football match.

OP posts:

Also in the crowd at a football match. Caught on camera for coverage of Cardiff Half Marathon running with my bestie. Interviewed by both BBC News and ITV news a few years ago when the village we lived in at the time flooded.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 03/05/2025 20:57

I was on Songs of Praise when I was about 7, looking like a singing angel perfectly framed by an illuminated stained glass window. My mum still has the VHS. I quit my TV career while I was ahead.

murasaki · 03/05/2025 21:00

School kid in the TV series 'woof'
In the crowd for the last day of the 2005 ashes, just behind Justin Langer's fielding position so shown quite a bit.

Tisfortired · 03/05/2025 21:01

In a soap as the newborn baby of a character who is still in it.

Inextremis · 03/05/2025 21:04

In the audience of 'It's a Knockout' in the 60s
In the background of a pub crime scene recreation for Police 5 with Shaw Taylor
Being interviewed about weight loss as a result of joining a Tesco diet group (got fat again afterwards!)
Edited to add (cos I forgot) - in the audience for Mastermind, sitting behind my friend Dave who was a contestant :)

StMarie4me · 03/05/2025 21:15

Was on The Time The Place.

Covidwoes · 03/05/2025 21:17

@OoLaOoLawhat year was that? I have always wondered what it was like being in the TOTP audience? How was it?

Claysta · 03/05/2025 21:22

Dancing behind Wham on TOTP during ‘Edge of Heaven’ and a pickee on Blind Date (number 2 - wasn’t picked..)

My brother and his mate once went fishing and came home with £40 (early to mid 90's?)
He was about 12/13 at the time
He said said some bloke had given it to him
My mother went mental-she wanted to know what he'd had to do to get it
He swore all he had to do was sit there and fish, but she didn't believe him and thought something much more sinister had happened and he was lying to cover it up-she was on the verge of calling the police
All was solved when his mate spoke up and said they where being filmed for songs of praise (not sure if it was the credits or the program)
She didn't believe him but tuned in the following Sunday
And sure enough, both lads where sat fishing and minding their own business while being filmed from a distance
Best bit is,my family couldn't be less religious if they tried!
I do remember my father wasn't too impressed with his son being on that programme

In the audience of Top of the pops

Me too

Karmacamelia · 03/05/2025 21:31

I was surprised how small the Top of the Pops studio was, there wete three stages and as each act got ready to sing, the audience were shuffled over to the next act. Also, before the show started, they played music and encouraged people to dance, I think they were looking at people who were good movers to zoom in to with the cameras! I was on the stage with one of the presenters wen he introduced the next act!

As a small child - a speck in a crowd of thousands lining the Mall for Princess Anne's wedding.

As an adult - in the audience for a quiz show. I never saw myself though as it went out live.

DM was once in the congregation for Songs of Praise. She said it too ages to film, they had to sing some hymns more than once and it was amazing just how many people had turned up who barely ever showed their faces in church for the normal services. 😂

Friolero · 03/05/2025 21:51

I was interviewed on sky news when the Queen died.

OoLaOoLa · 03/05/2025 21:52

I’ve just remembered another.. Blue Peter, around 1990. It was about Greenwich Mean Time.
My class at Primary School all had to line up on The Meridian Line and get interviewed and I was asked.. What does it feel like to stand on such a historical line, I said something really sarcastic like.. “ I’m not really bothered, I stand on it every day because it runs straight through my dinner hall at school”

Intranslation · 03/05/2025 21:53

In the mid 80s Ch4 news visited my church to ask parishioners what they thought about women priests. It was a very untypical Sunday as the bishop was there for my confirmation. They didn't get the expected responses as they'd wrongly concluded that high churchmanship was not ok with women in the priesthood. They'd have been better off at a very evangelical church in the same town.

I feel used. I was just a cute kid who couldn't resist a banger of a hymn and they took advantage of that. No payment was received 😔

Vinorosso74 · 03/05/2025 21:58

Razzmatazz, back in the mid 80s. We went on a school trip to be in the audience.

marmitegirl01 · 03/05/2025 21:59

Years ago ITV did a fly on the wall doc of London ambulance service. The last episode they filmed us, we were still training and were doing practice scenarios. Pretty sure my mum still has the vhs 🤣

DustyMaiden · 03/05/2025 22:02

Was in a film as an extra as a child. On news raising money for children in need with a choir.

FabulouslyFab · 03/05/2025 22:05

Breakfast tele 1984 with Gary Glitter and Neil Kinnock - oh the shame 🤦‍♀️😂😂

Theunamedcat · 03/05/2025 22:08

My behind in a library

My orville in a crowd...My mom took us as a child to see the queen mother she passed us (we were at the front) and I jumped up and down waving my orville teddy and it got on the news 😂

nokidshere · 03/05/2025 22:18

Many moons ago my mum took us to be in the audience of a magazine style programme called ‘lift off with Ayesha’, as a group of 8 young girls we were asked to be filmed/photographed with Coral Atkins (big tv star at the time) for an article about her new career opening a children’s home. The pic was in all the nationals too.

Newnameshoos · 03/05/2025 22:21

I was in the 1000 strong choir for a social experiment to see if a made-up choir called The People's Chorus could perform Tallis Sperm in Allium in one day from scratch. There were lots of bits with me in them!

Newnameshoos · 03/05/2025 22:24

I wasn't on screen but my organ playing was on the audio, the BBC came to film at our church when there was a legionaires outbreak. We had to sing/play the hymn three times for them.
