Fans of the medical thriller series Malpractice (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/malpractice-season-2-release-date/) have been eagerly awaiting news on when the new season

Been a 2year wait

Season 2 will follow Dr James Ford, played by Those About to Die (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/those-about-to-die-review/)'s Tom Hughes.

He finds himself under investigation after getting himself "caught between an anxious new mother’s postnatal check-up and the sectioning of a psychotic patient" in a North Yorkshire hospital, according to the show's synopsis.

The synopsis also ask
s: "Is Dr Ford a doctor with a God complex, or a victim himself?"

This season of the ITV drama will welcome a near-completely new cast, (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/malpractice-season-2-itv-cast-confirmed-newsupdate/) including Selin Hizli (Am I Being Unreasonable?) and Zoë Telford (Red Eye).

Other new additions to the ensemble are Hannah McClean (Blue Lights) and Seraphina Beh (Top Boy) amongst a whole host of new faces.

However, some fan favourites are set to return, with Norma Callahan (Helen Behan) and George Adjei (Jordan Kouamé) confirmed to reprise their roles as part of the Medical Investigation Unit for another season.

The announcement came from ITV, who said of the new series ahead of its release: "As George and Norma uncover a hospital seemingly at war with itself, to what lengths will James go to preserve his position?

"Can the MIU uncover the truth of what happened despite fierce opposition from all sides?"

Is anyone troubled by the whole Kate and James thing? Given there was a similar storyline in Pulse recently but with genders reversed. Nobody seems to have mentioned that it is wildly inappropriate that really with the power dynamics you could bring up sexual harassment at the very least. Given he also seems quite isolated and seems to be picking up a lot of her work. The team seem to like him but not her and that would indicate he is good at what he does and perhaps not her. He is trapped in a spiral though now and then everything becomes a mess up. They’ve also got him dishevelled looking, unkept, looking heavier than the actor is. He doesn’t eat right. Is living with his sister who has a party lifestyle he doesn’t really participate in. Given he is isolated as well it seems, I mean you could go in on that relationship being all types of abusive. Also WTF she’s a doctor and from the texts she was pressing him to come over. She knew he was on call.

Yes agree the Kate & James relationship is inappropriate - she is his cljnical
supervisor and so responsible for his career progression. She’s also a slimy piece of work and I don’t think he should trust her. Possibly she’s sleeping with the bald glasses head medical director guy as well

She thought she was

mum wanted a natural birth and maybe why mw troubled as wanted a natural birth

I think it’s highlighting how the push for a “natural birth” isn’t always the safest thing for mother or baby

@Blondeshavemorefun I didn't realise you were a maternity nurse. I thought from something you’d said in the other place that you work with youngsters like my son in a care capacity. I did wonder though if you also had a medical background because of how quickly you can calculate clicks.

And now back to the series - I’m not going to watch the rest. It’s enough that my mum choked to death on her lunch sitting up in her hospital bed without having to see bad practice and arse covering stitch ups on the TV as well as in real life.

also, you’ve been through so much in life and I’m sorry xxx

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/05/2025 07:49

Ah bless you @Weepixie. Yes I’m a mn. Been one 15yrs And work with newborns. Have a gorgeous 8w old at the moment - been with him for 5w

but I also care and work nights with (have for 2yrs) an non verbal - non eating so only special formula milk autistic boy who is now 7 - to give mum respite - he can sleep. Or he can be up all night. Every night is diff

sorry to hear about your mum 💖

howcanitbetrue · 11/05/2025 21:32

PrincessScarlett · 11/05/2025 21:37

howcanitbetrue · 11/05/2025 21:38

Double twats

PrincessScarlett · 11/05/2025 21:46

The twats are going to make Kate halt James's career aren't they.

purpleme12 · 11/05/2025 22:00

howcanitbetrue · 11/05/2025 22:00

God it gets worse.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/05/2025 22:02

Oh this was hard watching tonight

First seeing the lady trying to give birth. Her pain and anguish

Then the baby being born and will need care for rest of his life 😢

Then the evil art Mr M lying to cover his own arse

Hopefully the other nurse /mw will say she heard her say prep for a cs and nasty art said no

Why didn't she say anything in the office with bearded man - she should have said I told you to have a cs rather then just left

The other mw being hounded. Poor Maria

All tumbling down for James and his boss kate

Tho she is trying to cover her own back and doesn't care about him

I hope in tom e5 it all gets sorted - for James and even sophie Feel sorry for Sophie now having the horrid art as her boss

And maria 🙀🙀😢😢
