Fans of the medical thriller series Malpractice (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/malpractice-season-2-release-date/) have been eagerly awaiting news on when the new season
will come to their screens, and ITV has finally confirmed a release date.

Been a 2year wait

Season 2 will follow Dr James Ford, played by Those About to Die (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/those-about-to-die-review/)'s Tom Hughes.

He finds himself under investigation after getting himself "caught between an anxious new mother’s postnatal check-up and the sectioning of a psychotic patient" in a North Yorkshire hospital, according to the show's synopsis.

The synopsis also ask
s: "Is Dr Ford a doctor with a God complex, or a victim himself?"

This season of the ITV drama will welcome a near-completely new cast, (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/malpractice-season-2-itv-cast-confirmed-newsupdate/) including Selin Hizli (Am I Being Unreasonable?) and Zoë Telford (Red Eye).

Other new additions to the ensemble are Hannah McClean (Blue Lights) and Seraphina Beh (Top Boy) amongst a whole host of new faces.

However, some fan favourites are set to return, with Norma Callahan (Helen Behan) and George Adjei (Jordan Kouamé) confirmed to reprise their roles as part of the Medical Investigation Unit for another season.

The announcement came from ITV, who said of the new series ahead of its release: "As George and Norma uncover a hospital seemingly at war with itself, to what lengths will James go to preserve his position?

"Can the MIU uncover the truth of what happened despite fierce opposition from all sides?"

Dr Ford (James) is the main guy.

His 'boss' is, I think , McMillan and is called Kate.

Rosie is the woman who took her own life

I think the junior doctor is called Gabriella. The one who was panicking and called him back.

Dr Hernandez is the obstetrician who seems not to like Dr Ford very much - but I don't think there is history. She was just very angry about the turn of events and deflecting maybe.

The investigators are George and Norma, of all names! Last series I was annoyed and the concealment of that actor's Irish accent since it served no purpose otehr than perhaps to stop audiences speculating a connection with Niamh Algar's character.

I remember one of my post birth check ups being with a midwife based at my local hospital. This was 15 years ago. Initial visit was HV in home but then I had one at hospital as that is where my midwife team was based.

I think all Dr Ford is guilty of is not being within 30 minutes of hospital when on call. Dr Hernandez on the other hand didn't explain the importance of the medication properly after Dr Ford told her to. There was also that woman hanging around her property at the end saying she wouldn't get away with it this time implying she's made mistakes before with patients.

All this / saves me typing it 😂

So James lied , saying he was only 30 minutes away from the hospital when he was woken up in the night and the investigators now know . I guess he's having an affair , expect we'll find out more.

So tempted to binge as I thought it was weekly but it's on tonight and tomorrow , wooo 😀

I can't help being suspicious of Dr Hernandez as she was the weird friend in Am I Being Unreasonable.

Why are all the main characters so unlikeable? Dr Hernandez is just cold and nasty. Dr. Ford is really naive, too.

It's not often that I find dramas hard to watch due to how unlikeable some of the characters are.

I feel I have definitely come across doctors like Dr Hernandez. She was quite dismissive when Rosie was talking about still being in pain. Rosie was clearly playing down her poor mental health and the doctor would have probably let that go if the husband didn’t keep pushing.
I think Dr Ford is basically a good guy. He quickly removed that child to protect her. However he should have made the husband wait outside while he spoke to Rosie. I think he got a bit shafted regarding whether Rosie had taken the sedative. His colleague led him to believe she had. Also Dr Hernandez was really wishy washy with Rosie about whether she should take it.
