Been a 2year wait

Season 2 will follow Dr James Ford, played by Those About to Die (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/those-about-to-die-review/)'s Tom Hughes.

He finds himself under investigation after getting himself "caught between an anxious new mother’s postnatal check-up and the sectioning of a psychotic patient" in a North Yorkshire hospital, according to the show's synopsis.

The synopsis also ask
s: "Is Dr Ford a doctor with a God complex, or a victim himself?"

This season of the ITV drama will welcome a near-completely new cast, (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/malpractice-season-2-itv-cast-confirmed-newsupdate/) including Selin Hizli (Am I Being Unreasonable?) and Zoë Telford (Red Eye).

Other new additions to the ensemble are Hannah McClean (Blue Lights) and Seraphina Beh (Top Boy) amongst a whole host of new faces.

However, some fan favourites are set to return, with Norma Callahan (Helen Behan) and George Adjei (Jordan Kouamé) confirmed to reprise their roles as part of the Medical Investigation Unit for another season.

The announcement came from ITV, who said of the new series ahead of its release: "As George and Norma uncover a hospital seemingly at war with itself, to what lengths will James go to preserve his position?

"Can the MIU uncover the truth of what happened despite fierce opposition from all sides?"

Dr Ford is protecting Dr McAllister by getting the complaint dropped against her. What's the betting Dr McAllister throws Dr Ford under the bus.

DR Hernandez is lying. She told Rosie she prescribed the drugs and it was up to Rosie if she took them.

Absolutely she would throw him under a bus

Dr Hernandez was against him from the start

They must understand the sometimes babies come at unavoidable times and too fast so people have to deliver who don't normally

And he absolutely should have dobbed in Dr McAllister

Absolutely because it’s being truthful not ‘dobbing in’. Also ultimately covering for colleagues doesn’t lead to better outcomes.

Yes sorry

PrincessScarlett · 05/05/2025 21:33

I reckon Dr Ford is having some sort of relationship with Dr McAllister. She won't want it coming out.

purpleme12 · 05/05/2025 21:33

Mmm I'm not sure

purpleme12 · 05/05/2025 21:35

Oh dear he should have just said she was lying!

PrincessScarlett · 05/05/2025 21:39

Oh so Dr Ford is a whistle blower and he's being punished for it.

PrincessScarlett · 05/05/2025 21:43

Dr Hernandez is dodgy. I want to know what Sally/
Harriet meant at the end of last night.

purpleme12 · 05/05/2025 21:44

Definitely dodgy

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/05/2025 21:53

He needs to get rid of that before it's found by someone else.

PrincessScarlett · 05/05/2025 21:55

Is she not going to overdose on him?

purpleme12 · 05/05/2025 21:55

Oh dear

PrincessScarlett · 05/05/2025 21:56

Oh dear, Dr Ford is like a magnetic for death 😬

PrincessScarlett · 05/05/2025 21:58

Ha! I knew he was seeing Dr McAllister. She's going to ruin him.

purpleme12 · 05/05/2025 21:59

You were right!

But I can't believe he's going there after she lied and blamed him!

Exactly! DH was on the phone to 999 getting instructions on how to deliver DD2 as I never made the hospital. On and off contractions all day then at 3pm it got worse then waters at 3.30pm and born at 3.55pm lol. I was never making hospital.

They told him get towels and string etc. Luckily paramedics made it within time or our dd would've died as cord was round her neck twice and no way could DH have managed that.

GrandTheftWalrus · 05/05/2025 22:31

Also I'm just watching series 1.

He was trying to hard to protect Kate and she screwed him big time

makes me wonder how long they have been Seeing each other as Kate is happy to get James i to trouble to save her own skin

OP posts:
PrincessScarlett · 05/05/2025 23:19

I'm wondering if Kate deliberately started seeing James knowing that he left his previous job under a cloud when he tried to highlight failings of staff. She can then ensure that he protects her from her own staff whistle blowing and throw him under the bus at the same time.

Dr Hernandez's boss seemed to know that James was being investigated and implored her to put the blame on him as he's already being investigated. Seems like senior management are deliberately using James as a scapegoat to cover up all their failings.

Loved that Dr Hernandez has been dropped in it by the midwife.

Piggywaspushed · 06/05/2025 06:04

Apart from getting McAllister's name wrong , I called the fanfare early in episode one! Silly James. Up to his neck in it.
