Todd has got a new beau, and he looks like a Ken doll
And it turns out he's got a wife too
Things never go smoothly for Todd do they really?
What on earth is he going to do?

Julie's still suffering with cancer it seems,
and Kev is still ill with it - how sad
Now Debbie's very likely got dementia
Which is really very bad.

New guy Mick and his missus are loathsome
I hope they leave really soon
I want to just grab them and drop kick them hard
So they end up on the dark side of the moon

DeeDee has had Joels baby, but doesn't want her
And her brother's stepped up to be her dad
But I think she's wavering and getting a bit attached
If she gives her baby up she may be sad.

DeeDee's about to take action for the poor treatment she had
When she was in labour and about to give birth
I hope she gets justice and gets treated right
And gets compensated for what she is worth

Dorin is back, he's incredibly cute
And I have to say DeeDee's baby is too (edit by request)
I hope they don't turn into little shits
Like the children in Corrie tend to do!

Daisy and Jenny have proper fallen out
Over the pub and money and debts
I wonder who'll end up owning it and running it
I think we should take some bets!

I think that's most of what's going on! (Sorry if I've left owt out!)

I expect the invisible Wendy Crozier was looking after Alfie. Actually, Alfies's been pretty invisible lately!

I love it that she still gets a mention, same with Crawshaw who I noted was refered to as headmaster when previously she was the deputy.

Has she been promoted or was it a slip of the tongue.

We need to know

Bring her back but don't make her the next serial killer.

Shellingbynight · 15/04/2025 08:52

@JewelleryCat I thought the Danny/Mike storyline was really well done, the characters were really well developed and it came at the end of a long storyline arc. Whereas they have dropped Carl in from nowhere to cause havoc. As if Debbie having dementia isn't bad enough. If it does go that way it will be very similar to the Baldwin storyline, including the in-family shagging. I hope it doesn't go that way but they certainly seem to be setting Carl up as a villain.

His mum was English

She was Percy Sugden's niece

You're right! I'd totally forgotten that. I beg his pardon. 😅

Then Bill Webster married Sherrie Hewson after Carl's Mum.

I agree, it was well done. I just didn’t like Mike being taken advantage of but it the Classic days, characters gelled. We were more invested than we are now and characters weren’t dropped in as much as they are now. I hope Carl won’t turn out to be a villain either but in Corrie today, they do like their new characters to be one

Shellingbynight · 15/04/2025 09:12

They certainly do. They even ruined the previously pleasant Uncle Steven. The only recent character I can think of with no nefarious intentions is Dorin!

MonickerMonica · 15/04/2025 09:25

I'm feeling very sorry for Sean. He's a good actor with the right scripts and scenes so the current situation with Dylan and the bullying/blackmailing inmate which is tearing Sean apart is showing that he really can act well. Dylan seems very vulnerable and I think there may be some awful scenes ahead. 🙁

I always liked her

Great scene when she came back and David told her Bill was sleeping his his gran

Shellingbynight · 15/04/2025 09:49

I find Antony Cotton is very limited. In Classic he's fine, very likeable as the amusing friend and barman. But that is all he can do, and I'm not sure he can even do that nowadays without caricaturing it. And it is a shame they are ruining Dylan with a crime storyline, he was a good character.

Re the Websters, I thought when Kevin was in the house he did a great job of looking really unwell, I like the fact they are addressing the effects of chemo. I noticed they made a point of saying how little Debbie and Kev know about Carl.

zanahoria · 15/04/2025 09:50

Sean is better when he has something other to do than throw a tea towel over his shoulder and walk off in a huff but I wish he was not part of this STC nonsense and I wish Dylan was not either. They finally moved out of Eileen's and were getting some good scenes together in their own place, they could have built on that rather than slamming him away when so many other villains walk free. They sacrificed his character for an issues plot.

Too good a job.

Perhaps the scriptwriters though he looks terrible let's give him cancer.

Shellingbynight · 15/04/2025 09:53

I know what you mean, the actor has his own health problems. But Kev has looked noticeably worse since the cancer diagnosis and effects of chemo.

zanahoria · 15/04/2025 10:01

Dorin's popularity, on and off screen, makes me worried about the fate of Alina. Surely, by all rules of soap, she is a dead woman walking?

Shame. My plan was that she would move back to Weatherfield with her mum and her auntie who would be played by the cheeky Girls.

And they keep showing him in just polo shirt

Time to put on the mauve jacket that always contributed to his trademark puffed up pocket sized hard man look.

Still as long as he is still strong enough to punch people we do not need to fret too much.

MonickerMonica · 15/04/2025 10:07

Sean. Yes I've gone right off him in the past when all he did was flounce and eye roll with towel over shoulder 🙄. I just think he's doing well portraying the desperate father in fear for his son's safety.

Shellingbynight · 15/04/2025 10:24

@MonickerMonica Oh yes, that bar towel! I confess I find the YOI storylines so ridiculous that nowadays I fast forward through most of them.

@zanahoria Kev and his mauve jacket - class.

zanahoria · 15/04/2025 10:41

They should give Carl a mauve jacket

@MonickerMonica · Yesterday 21:59

Was Sarah just wearing a lot more makeup or has she done something "cosmetically" in another way. She just looked very different somehow.

I looked her quite intensely for a few minutes in last night's episode, and can't figure it out. She did look a bit different yes... She is very pretty, and as an adult has always looked young for her age, (maybe 5-8 years younger.) But some months ago, she was looking a bit more like her age... Well, late 30s. You could see feint lines in her face. Perfectly normal, and she was still pretty and attractive (obviously!) Smile

But last night, her face did look a bit smooth. So I think she may have had botox. Looks fine, and not all weird and bloated like some people do when they've had botox, but she did look a bit 'smooth.' Like she has been photo-shopped a bit!

I'm told it's called a 'glow up'.

SabreIsMyFave · 15/04/2025 11:05

One thing that puzzled me about last night - at the beginning of Corrie. Debbie came into Kev and Abi's place for some of Alfie's babygros, and a short conversation took place. Then Debbie said she can't take Kev to the hospital as she has a full day.

Then Kev's brother said 'I thought you said you had a light day.' But she never said that. I rewound it and played the scene again, and she never said she had a light day. I didn't hear it anyway. Did they make an error, or did I? Did Debbie/the actress forget to say a line? I'm confused! 😆

OP posts:
Shellingbynight · 15/04/2025 11:23

Sabre I thought that Debs comment about a light day was supposedly made on the phone previously. I think the main point was her inability to keep track of what appointments she has. Later on she said her appointments were cancelled. She mentioned those type of problems to the doc.

I must have missed something too because Carl knows about the dementia. How does he know? Did Debbie tell him?
