Julie's still suffering with cancer it seems,
and Kev is still ill with it - how sad
Now Debbie's very likely got dementia
Which is really very bad.

New guy Mick and his missus are loathsome
I hope they leave really soon
I want to just grab them and drop kick them hard
So they end up on the dark side of the moon

DeeDee has had Joels baby, but doesn't want her
And her brother's stepped up to be her dad
But I think she's wavering and getting a bit attached
If she gives her baby up she may be sad.

DeeDee's about to take action for the poor treatment she had
When she was in labour and about to give birth
I hope she gets justice and gets treated right
And gets compensated for what she is worth

Dorin is back, he's incredibly cute
And I have to say DeeDee's baby is too (edit by request)
I hope they don't turn into little shits
Like the children in Corrie tend to do!

Daisy and Jenny have proper fallen out
Over the pub and money and debts
I wonder who'll end up owning it and running it
I think we should take some bets!

If I remember right, I have a vague memory of Kevin's dad's second wife being in the cast before they went off together. I think she was related to another character.

He was mentioned a couple of weeks ago, thus ' we ' knew he would appear - as i hadn't remembered about him until the mention.

So that leads to the question I was going to ask - have we ever seen the brother before ?

Like Bethany still having a Manchester accent after living in Italy since she was a toddler.

@Anonym00se Dorin lived in Hastings with Alina until a few months ago which explains his good English.

Can the storylines possibly get any worse? I think we know the answer. It should be renamed Coincidence Street 🙄

It was refreshing not to witness one hospital scene or police station for once! Wonder how they will explain David’s absence as he’s in CBB! Why the hell couldn’t they give the dementia story to Sean, Izzy, Goth girl (can’t even remember her name ), Kirky, Dev, Chez, Gemma, Betsy, Swain, Craigy the list goes on instead of one of the best characters on the street !

Writing has gone downhill imo since Daran Little left. He knew Corrie and the characters inside out, as well as being a friend of original creator Tony Warren. He wrote many of Blanche's one liners. Daran writes for EastEnders now unfortunately and has no plans to return.

Would anyone have noticed if it were Kirk?

He used to be a decent character, not the sharpest knife in the draw but he has just become a one dimensional cliche. The writers seem to think that just having him say stupid things is hilarious.

We did not have any police scenes but we did have Abi assaulting someone again with no payback whatsoever. Even more bizarrely Carl seemed to find it sexy.

@zanahoria I agree about Kirk. I'd like one day to see the actor in a different role where he's not the village/street idiot 😕

I thought Abbie hitting Carl was an accident and not intended.

I wouldn’t post spoilers on here but wondering how so many of you avoid them!

There are posts on f/b, preview clips of episodes, articles on other tv programmes…

I don't use FB, don't look at magazine covers in the shop. If a clip comes on in the ads then I mute it.

It's really not that difficult to avoid them.

I am not invested enough in Corrie nowadays to be bothered about spoilers, but I agree @FeltCarrot I am surprised anyone can completely avoid them. I suspect quite a few of us on the thread knew about various exits and Debbie's illness before they happen.

I am steeling myself to watch last night's episode, I think I may do a lot of fast forwarding!

It amazes me those magazines keep going in the internet age, plenty of soap gossip online.

Loved when Tyrone, fizz and dorin barged in on Steve and Cassie and Dorin piping up with ‘Steve’ !!

Friday's episode was not nearly as bad as I expected. There was some good writing (as well as some dire plotting). I liked the scenes at Eileen’s house, and Todd had some good lines talking to wooden Ken. And Cassie and Steve do have a bit of chemistry.

Carl seems a good actor and interesting character. It's a shame he had such a dire entrance but he is promising. I find it unbelievable that he has not seen a photo of Abi. They are so obviously going to have an affair.

I vaguely remember Carl, I think it was back when Bill (their dad) was in the show, and went back and forth to Germany a couple of times, Carl would get a mention. Bill died last year and Kev went over there so he may have mentioned Carl then too. I liked Bill, good character.

I knew something was going to happen between Abi & Kevin. I thought it might be Kevin who’d fall for one of his nurses.
Abi looks smitten already.

Abi being all coy and flirty made me feel slightly queasy.
