I’m enjoying this series, the storylines are daft as ever. Humphrey is looking hot this year! Not really convinced by Esther and Martha’s smug ex but i can live with it.

Why can’t Martha and Humphrey buy or rent a proper house instead of forcing Martha’s poor mum to live on a boat?!

Did they use all their savings to set up Martha’s business? And I think her mum likes them being nearby.

If I were Martha's mum I'd never live in a boat instead of my actual house. It's ridiculous that it was ever suggested.

I’m a little confused by Archie’s living arrangements. I would have expected him to live at the vineyard rather than the burbs of shipton Abbott

I’ll be annoyed if he’s still holding a torch for Martha tbh as she’s so bloody wet

If it was me I’d enjoy it, though I wouldn’t want a duck walking around on my cabin roof.(holiday on the Broads last year we had one which hitched a lift and then woke me up early, those feet aren’t made for quiet walking)

He seems to have suddenly decided actually he doesn’t love Martha after all after hankering after her for all those years and trying to get off with her when he knew she was with Humph. Honestly why couldn’t they have got a new love interest in for Esther? Also I hope they’re planning to give Kelby a girlfriend or a promotion or something good in his life at some stage. Not the big chief police lady though because surely she’s at least 15 years older than him to have progressed so far in the police 🤨 he’ll probably end up with Esther’s daughter because their small social circle is so incestuous.

the SL was a bit odd with the graveyard stake out as well - the guy clearly had some mental health issues and they dress it up as being sweet and romantic almost

The ‘poison on an object/licking fingers’ plot has been used at least twice in Death in Paradise episodes (postage stamps and note book pages). I think they are running out of plots. But it’s easy viewing, and good for the Devon & Cornwall tourist industry.

I’ve been rewatching s1 and the plots are better there

I also don’t think it’s great advertising for the area. As soon as the scones were ordered my DS left the room because he couldn’t bear the inevitable stand off. It makes the place look really parochial and unwelcoming
