Tuesday 13th May, BBC 2, 9pm: Abortion - The Choice.
"Five women face up to their decision to have an abortion, describing their thought processes as they made one of the most difficult choices anybody can make, and on which there can be no hard and fast agreement. Beyond the chatter, 200,000 pregnancies are terminated in the UK each year and none is anything less than tortuous and painful - as demonstrated by this poignant film."

Thanks for the reminder Expat.I expect I would have looked in paper.Ds1 watched it last week and was AS for the OP...won't be watching it.Feel it is an extremely personal choice.

CrackerOfNuts · 13/05/2008 21:06

I wasn't going to watch this and seeing as the opening credits made me cry, perhaps I shouldn't.

expatinscotland · 13/05/2008 21:12

i'm recording Blood Sweat and Tshirts.

i do have a curiosity question, though.

it seems that women who have late term abortions get to have them surgically.

k, but why do women whose babies die in utero at say, 20+ weeks have to be induced and give birth?

why can't they be surgically evacuated just as with an abortion?

CrackerOfNuts · 13/05/2008 21:14

No, can't watch anymore.

I do think that everyone should have the choice, but that there isn't enough indepth counselling beforehand.

CrackerOfNuts · 13/05/2008 21:14

Or afterwards.

expatinscotland · 13/05/2008 21:17

hmm, i do wonder, however, this lady who's had 4 abortions and she's 29, if she has any children?

strawberriesandcream01 · 13/05/2008 21:18

strawberriesandcream01 · 13/05/2008 21:20

gosh, thanks!

ButterflyMcQueen · 13/05/2008 21:22

blonde woman sounds terribly immature for her age

LynetteScavo · 13/05/2008 21:23

Immature is a nice way of putting it!!!!

expatinscotland · 13/05/2008 21:24

she's sounds like a really selfish cow. just in general. it's all because she's middle class, of course . don't know where to file that comment.

expatinscotland · 13/05/2008 21:24

this gal was 23 weeks along when she terminated.

CrackerOfNuts · 13/05/2008 21:25

I want to watch because I want to hear their stories, but don't want to see any of the clinic bits etc, are they showing bits of that or not ??

CrackerOfNuts · 13/05/2008 21:26

I don't just mean the procedure, I mean the theatre, explaining what procedure is etc ?

expatinscotland · 13/05/2008 21:26

not now, cracker. the women are just talking.

LynetteScavo · 13/05/2008 21:26

expatinscotland · 13/05/2008 21:26

expatinscotland · 13/05/2008 21:26

the bi-racial woman.

CrackerOfNuts · 13/05/2008 21:26

Thanks expat, will turn over again then.

ButterflyMcQueen · 13/05/2008 21:27

yes lynette and expat!

LynetteScavo · 13/05/2008 21:27

I've sent DH to bed so I can watch it. Now I'm crying.

strawberriesandcream01 · 13/05/2008 21:28

How old are these women? I thought it was about teenagers but that blond stuck up one isn't a teenager. Are they going to tell us how it is done or show us what happens? (might be turning over then)

laughalot · 13/05/2008 21:29
