The Emmy-award winning HBO original series, which offers an inside look at the powerful and wealthy as they navigate complex personal dynamics and face potentially dangerous experiences while on vacation, returns for its third season this month.

"Seeking peace can be a trip," reads the tagline for this season, which was created, written and directed by former "Survivor" contestant Mike White.
This time around, viewers will be whisked away to an "exclusive" resort in Thailand, where an eclectic group of guests and resort employees will play, and likely misbehave, over the span of a week. "The White Lotus" Season 3 guests include a wealthy businessman and his family, three longtime friends who haven't seen each other in a while on a girls' trip and "rugged man with a chip on his shoulder" and his girlfriend, among others.

Anyone else looking forward to this? Starts on Monday and will be shown on Now and Sky. No watching on demand as all episodes will be dropped weekly.

I'm a bit hooked already. But I couldn't remember some of the last series, much as I enjoyed it at the time!

roselilylavender · 19/02/2025 09:03

Watched ep 1 last night and, whilst not much seemed to happen, I thought it set things up for some interesting potential story lines. I'm looking forward to see which way it goes next.
I hadn't clocked that the spa manager is the same person.
In the family with 3 children, was the son who isn't Arnie's son (so the one with curlyish hair) in a previous series? He looks familiar.

roselilylavender · 19/02/2025 09:05

Ignore my question! I just googled it & he was in The Perfect Couple (which is worth a watch if you haven't seen it)

Shopaholic100 · 20/02/2025 10:49

Personally season 1 was my favourite, liked the story line. Season 2, I didn’t really enjoy. Season 3 has a beautiful setting, just hope they don’t go down the incest route as it would be totally gross.

DuvetsCovered · 20/02/2025 16:44

Rewatched s3 ep1 and enjoyed it more than when I watched it when it first came out on Monday.

So many weird things to come I fear.

Really liked Belinda's vulnerability in the earlier seasons.

fluffyblanky · 21/02/2025 20:51

I am watching episode 1. Ahhhhhh not sure !!!! I won't want to watch it if there is incest !
Most of the characters are annoying so far, apart from the third woman in the friendship group.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 21/02/2025 21:55

The next one needs to be in Dubai.

This show is always better on the second watch because not only do you miss some of the amazingly quick witted dialogue but the amount of foreshadowing once you see it all unfolded is incredible.

Agree the luxury vibe would be spot on but notable lack of brown (i.e. South Asian or Middle Eastern heritage) actors/actresses to date though.

Even the Hindu chant isn't chanted by a Hindu.

Agree. You notice things you missed before

rhats why I like weekly

I think if you binge episode after episode you don’t take it all in

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/02/2025 22:43

So who do we think did the shooting

who is the dead body floating

ans why on earth does the model who I assume have money stay with her BBB - boring bald boyfriend 😂 aka Greg - as he’s so horrible to her

DuvetsCovered · 22/02/2025 23:02

I don't enjoy watching Saxon the same way that I enjoyed S1's character who was obsessed with the wrong honeymoon suite booking, or S2's Italian multi-generational family.

Thought it brave the model said she liked the English actress' teeth.

I don't think they would have an incest storyline, surely? Although the familial interactions were very dodgy.

We like the Made in Thailand song.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/02/2025 23:07

Not sure it’s incest

more like younger brother is gay

thatsnotmynamebruh · 22/02/2025 23:29

I thought it was good, excited to watch it tomorrow

Also hope it’s not an incest story as that’s just bizarre and i’m not sure I could watch

I think we are meant to believe that Walter Goggins character is up to no good so it probably won’t be him that shoots anyone. I reckon he’s a rogue cop or something and is there to catch the hotel owner who is maybe head of some organised crime gang. I think Jason Isaac’s character is there on business, possibly involved in money laundering for the owner. Therefore I think it is likely that he is either the person who shoots someone or he is the person who’s been shot.

I think it's something to do with the 3rd wheel friend - I think her crying in her room has nothing whatsoever to do with her friendships.

TheGlamour · 23/02/2025 08:20

Interesting thoughts! Good to be reminded there may be mis-direction going on.

(Though I do love the fact that Laurie (3rd Friend) is the only one with visible frown lines!)

Karmaisagod · 23/02/2025 09:26

I am loving it and can't wait for the next episode. My money is on Victoria/Parker Posey doing the shooting after losing the plot. She doesn't seem to be all there, and prescription drugs are mentioned - I don't think that drawl is just her southern accent. But I expect I'm wrong.

I'm curious about what happened to Belinda and her son. They both refer to having been through something.

I hope Greg gets his comeuppance!

The security guards Mook was gushing about - they weren't for any of the main families in the story, were they?

What desperate, drunken embarrassing hookups are we predicting? Saxon and Carrie Coon, and it turns out he can't function properly?

TheGlamour · 23/02/2025 09:31

I thought the security guards were employed by the absent husband of the hotel owner?

(Though I also suspect he’s not so much ‘absent’ as ‘in hiding’ somewhere on the premises.)

Edited

Aha! That makes sense, thanks.

I like that theory!

Karmaisagod · 23/02/2025 09:36

I'm now wondering if the "shitshow these past 2 years" that Belinda refers to is the fallout for the fictional Maui resort after the season 1 shenanigans.

TheGlamour · 23/02/2025 09:50

Season 1 and S2 shenanigans! In real life Sritala would surely be hugely worried about the damage to her brand caused by the deaths at two of her hotels.

It was noticeable that she showed up to greet the paying guests but didn’t bother with Belinda - who arguably is the one tasked with helping to get the brand back on track.

I think it's something to do with the 3rd wheel friend - I think her crying in her room has nothing whatsoever to do with her friendships.

She'll be having a big part in this somehow - Carrie Coon (Laurie) is hugely talented and experienced so there's going to be more to her role than talking to Kate and Jaclyn about feeling left out of the friendship group.
