The Emmy-award winning HBO original series, which offers an inside look at the powerful and wealthy as they navigate complex personal dynamics and face potentially dangerous experiences while on vacation, returns for its third season this month.

"Seeking peace can be a trip," reads the tagline for this season, which was created, written and directed by former "Survivor" contestant Mike White.
This time around, viewers will be whisked away to an "exclusive" resort in Thailand, where an eclectic group of guests and resort employees will play, and likely misbehave, over the span of a week. "The White Lotus" Season 3 guests include a wealthy businessman and his family, three longtime friends who haven't seen each other in a while on a girls' trip and "rugged man with a chip on his shoulder" and his girlfriend, among others.

Anyone else looking forward to this? Starts on Monday and will be shown on Now and Sky. No watching on demand as all episodes will be dropped weekly.

I've watched it so far but definitely the weakest series so far. As others say lacking the humour and depth of characters. Don't really care what happens!

thatsnotmynamebruh · 03/03/2025 21:35

Just finished it, that one was actually really boring, I was on my phone for most of it. Will try again next week, but if it’s like today, I may give up on it, shame, liked it at the start and loved the other series

Why is Chelsea so determined when it comes to Rick who doesn't seem to give a fuck?

It IS really slow so far

I hope Chelsea is the villain otherwise it's just Aimee from sex education in Thailand.

It's a sad day when a nepo baby is the most interesting part of a formerly great tv show.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 03/03/2025 22:51

It's not as good as previous seasons but I'm still enjoying it. Out of the two nepo babies Patrick S is doing better so far. He's very good as Saxon, though he's part Kennedy so perhaps it isn't too much of a stretch.

I can't believe the actor playing Fabian was the lead in Zone of Interest!

Conniethecatapillar · 03/03/2025 23:00

Greg (Gary) has only said about 2 words so far. He's got the easiest acting job there!

sunbum · 04/03/2025 09:54

who is the other nepe baby apart from Arnie's son?

i think this last episode was v slow but i seem to remember a slow episode in at least the Scicily one preceeding an eventful next episode.

They are foreshadowing the monkeys an awful lot. Maybe it is a monkey that gets hold of someone's gun.

Lochlan is Sam Nivola, Emily Mortimer ans Alessandro Nivola's son.

MarkWithaC · 04/03/2025 16:31

Is it deliberately languorous, do we think, or just not as well plotted and thought out as earlier seasons?
I feel like the acting style here is more laid-back than, say, with the Italian American family in the last one, or Tanya in the first one. Maybe that's intentional?
I think things will start slotting into place in the next ep, though, with the boat trip. And will Rick go to Bangkok and we'll see what his story is?
I kind of hope Chelsea isn't just a victim, or it'll be a bit obvious. I wonder if the snake choker will make a return or if that was just foreshadowing of the snake bite we've already seen. I have a feeling it's Chekhov's choker and will reveal something about Gaitok, or Valentin (he MUST be going to be uncovered as being involved in that?).
And, as an aside, Gaitok is sweet but he really was hopeless letting himself be distracted so easily. One job...

volingaround · 04/03/2025 18:10

I'm really enjoying it and it doesn't feel different in pace to the other two seasons. Certainly not getting a sense of disappointment. I have, however, effectively been groomed by Boyd Crowder so will be rooting for Rick no matter how much of a (vengefully murderous?) knob he is 😂

TheresaBackinbud · 04/03/2025 19:44

I will keep saying this. I hope it’s Greg/Garry who we see floating along as we need Karma.

Wow, I had no idea (haven’t heard of the father so will have to Google him)
Definitely get the entitled Kennedy vibes from the other one but maybe he’s just a good actor

It’s lacking humour, and jaw dropping moments so far, compared to previous series.

They’ll surely have to pick up the pace to reach a satisfactory conclusion.

This. Gosh it's slow..it could be so much better..its repetitive they just keep having breakfast/lunch/dinner..I don't remember the previous series being this boring ? Hope it picks up fast. We don't know enough about the 3 friends yet...

I think this pace is better and prefer the less exaggerated characters. I think the more subtle acting is an improvement.

Also relieved that I haven’t had to fast forward through too many graphic scenes (wish I could un-see some of season 1)

HelenCurlyBrown · 05/03/2025 09:11

We’re finding it very boring. Sticking with it purely based on the brilliance of the first 2 seasons. If this season was season 1, we’d have thrown in the towel.

curiositykilledthiscat · 05/03/2025 09:38

There's a lack of suspense and tension in the storytelling so far, so I don't have a 'need' to find out what happens next. I'll continue watching but as @HelenCurlyBrown says, it's only because of the previous seasons. I wonder if Mike White ran out of ideas just before he started writing this series.

Parker Posey 's shit North Carolina accent is also irritating me.

@curiositykilledthiscat is this a calm before the storm metaphor? Everything is about to go crazy in ep 4 maybe? We keep having the tsunami references from Lochlan which very obviously link into the impending waves about to crash over his father's business, fortune and good name and impact the whole family. Belinda has clocked Greg/Gary, Rick and set up a meeting in Bangkok and everyone is going on the boat trip. After all of them bitching about each other behind their backs, Kate has finally heard the Jaclyn and Laurie slagging her off. Sounds like this might be where things kick off. Hope so!

Clawdy · 05/03/2025 18:10

Still enjoying it. That snake scene was so gripping!

CharlotteLightandDark · 06/03/2025 15:14

I’m not finding it boring at all. I guess a lot of tv now is made for binging, lots of action in the 3rd/cliffhanger ending to make you keep watching but this is paced differently and I’m into it!

disagree about PP’s accent, I know some people from NC and I think she absolutely nails it.

love Walton Goggins as an actor and looking forward to seeing him play baby billy again when the new righteous gemstones series starts soon!

If I had the patience which I clearly do not I would save them up to watch together .

BridgetRandomfuck · 07/03/2025 18:43

It’s still very watchable, though the pacing is definitely slower than the previous series - I read online that this series is 8 episodes as compared to the previous two’s 6, it does feel like it’s been stretched out to fill it.

I think that Sritala’s husband is responsible for Ricks father’s murder, and he’s going to confront/kill him.

Rick/Chelsea relationship is very odd, they don’t even seem to like each other, yet she’s swearing undying love. I suppose she has a meal ticket while he has a hot young thing, but they don’t seem to have any fun.

Rich American family not really interesting me - financial scandal was an obvious to go down, and the kids are a bit dull. Hope this story picks up.

Still enjoying the toxic friends the most, a big confrontation is a-brewing.

I really hope it’s not monkeys doing the shooting, as I have seen suggested on-line. My current bet is on Saxon, but we’ll see how that goes.

Greg is spelling menace for Belinda, I hope she gets out ok.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/03/2025 20:51

Seems you agree with me 😂

Hope improves
