@Figgygal I found Jake's story quite moving, you could clearly see that he walked with a slight limp and when he held the boxes at the fire it was really obvious that his hand wasn't strong.

Wow, are you really referencing his lifelong disability as a sob story. You should be ashamed of yourself.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 25/01/2025 09:26

i guess that is why Charlotte went Welsh,
so not posh english

You're probably right. Hadn't thought of that before. Less about the benefit of Welsh, more about the downside of being thought to be intelligent and/or posh in an environment where shouting and emoting reign.

Tamboureeny · 25/01/2025 09:34

The suspicion of intellect and brains in the world continues to the Traitors. Sad.
I wonder if it will be the same in the US version.
Anyone who looks or seems clever banished or murdered.

Makes sense in a game like this though. If you're a Traitor you obviously want to pick off the smarter ones, and if you're a Faithful a smart Traitor is likely to do better at the game. I don't think people automatically actually think they're smart they must be a Traitor, but that if there's a chance they are there's more of a risk with them.

Leanne was just playing the game, it's weird she's attracting so much hate on social media when people recognise Charlotte was playing the game and not criticising her.

Innocentrailway · 25/01/2025 09:36

Samcro · 25/01/2025 09:29

the nasty posts about Leanne are awful. glad she won.

Charlotte was awful. she was grinning all the time whilst Frankie was upset.

But sometimes smiling is a stress reaction, it doesn't mean Charlotte is without empathy. She said on Uncloaked something about how she felt inside versus how she appeared.

Can't bear social media ganging up on people- I really enjoy this show but this tarnishes it. Everyone forgets it's a game and it's severely edited to create a certain narrative.

Agree. Emotion appears to have replaced intellect and sound reasoning in our culture: if I ‘feel’ something then it must be valid and true.

We are doomed.

Tamboureeny · 25/01/2025 09:37

To add- i think if they had been told when C was banished she was a Traitor I think F might have survived. As they didn't know for sure though that whole thing must have messed with their heads.

Coldanddamp · 25/01/2025 09:37

Charlotte was screwed by the seer power she was actually the best traitor ever - the way she spoke to Frankie when revealed and then the way she was spinning things the next day was actually quite chilling/scary.

I thought it was chilling hence why I understood Fs shock. Obviously they are immersed and everything is heightened but I was like C people are watching this, you need to reign it back. That's why I think it's good for her sake she didn't win, the criticism would have been much more intense.

Yes Frankie should have voted to end the game the second time because she knew Charlotte was a traitor. Although then the others might have seen that as suspicious - she couldn't win really.

lolly792 · 25/01/2025 09:40

It's not nice that Leanne is getting slated on social media, but I can see why it's happening: she was so angry and came across as bullying anyone who doubted her as a faithful, but was quite happy to make the same accusations towards others. She made it personal rather than playing the game. It doesnt justify the social media stuff, just explains why she's getting it and not Charlotte. Charlotte just played the game, she didn't react angrily whenever anyone accused her

Coldanddamp · 25/01/2025 09:41

Agree. Emotion appears to have replaced intellect and sound reasoning in our culture:

Is this a new thing? I don't think so. it's not really about the facts & what's true it's about the perception.

I wish they'd just select more intelligent people to be on it, so there's no dumbasses voting all the clever ones off.

Can't be hard to set them some logical questions to root out the idiots, oh and some empathy tests too

Coldanddamp · 25/01/2025 09:45

If you were intelligent you wouldn't go on it!

Oioisavaloy27 · 25/01/2025 09:46

CloseYourRingStress · 25/01/2025 09:28

I wondered where Frankie's children were when she said that they didn't even know she was on the show post the helicopter ride. I thought she said they were school/university age, so I presumed boarding school.

I don't think she contributed a lot throughout the game tbh. The 'as a mummy' thing was clearly the way she thought she would best appeal to Leanne because Leanne had had a really tough time with her twins and was hoping to fund another round of IVF.

They are probably grown up!
I was a bit disappointed that Alexander and Frankie got voted out, the seer business was rubbish as someone else said it should have been done much earlier and not at the final.

😂 good point

Sunflower1650 · 25/01/2025 09:47

I’ve finally caught up.
I think the seer part ruined it all a bit.

NetZeroZealot · 25/01/2025 09:48

I would really have liked there to be a couple of intelligence or knowledge based challenges, where being smarter would have been a proper advantage.
Tge only challenges where anyone showed any strategic thinking were the balloon popping one, and where Alexander topped up the gold for Leanne & then Frankie.

Coldanddamp · 25/01/2025 09:45

True

Orangesinthebag · 25/01/2025 09:49

Just caught up. I nearly avoided a social event last night to stay in and watch it but glad I didn't, the ending was disappointing somehow.
I was glad Jake won, he spotted Traitors and generally played a good game.

Leanne took everything too personally and made people feel bad for just playing the game which really annoyed me; she came across as selfish & spoilt. But Frankie was irritating too, she got so many things wrong & was generally a bit drippy. Saying "I hate drama" at one of the final round tables annoyed me - I would have said "Then why did you want to play this game then?" - the whole game is drama!

I would have preferred Alexander to win with Jake.

Tbh, I didn't really care that much who won at the end & I hated the Seer bit, that just seemed a bit of a pointless twist really.

I don't think it did, she could have invited Alexander in and it would have played differently.

Or if Charlotte had got Seer etc.

Whoarethoseguys · 25/01/2025 09:52

Coldanddamp · 25/01/2025 08:40

  • Frankie was so wet and passive most of the game but the way she went for Charlotte (who in fairness had been a faithful most of the game and had only recently been recruited as a traitor) was awful. 'I swear as a mummy' ffs. And the vicious way she asked Charlotte why she wanted to win so much that she was pretending the seer table episode had gone differently- erm, Frankie, it's a GAME*

It's interesting how people read situations so differently. I do think Frankie was passive & avoided confrontation so for me her gameplay at the end was in keeping for her. I don't see how she "went" for C who made it quite clear when the envelope was burned how she was going to play it. And I didn't see her asking "why she wanted to win so bad" as vicious but perhaps we have different understandings of the word.

I didn't think Frankie was horrible she said as a mummy to Leanne because Leanne is also a mother. She was frustrated because being the seer has actually made things much worse for her which seemed unfair.

25percent · 25/01/2025 09:53

I don't think they would do the seer again because it was a poison chalice and no one would want it another time.

I agree that Frankie was annoying too - I neither loved her nor disliked her but she took everything personally too and I thought was quite mean to Charlotte when they had a private chat, was it after breakfast? Obviously Charlotte was desperate and had to come up with something - the only thing she could possibly do, other than admit to everyone she was a traitor, was to pin it all on Frankie. It was her only choice and she went for it. But then Frankie took her aside and said - I thought not in the nicest tone - “why do you want this so much?”. Like the fact that she has been unable to conceive and wanting to pay for IVF isn’t enough reason to really go for it in a game. I think a lot of them just kept forgetting it was a game. I think that was partly the appeal of Alexander - he was very aware it was a game and played it as such.

Onacuctustree · 25/01/2025 10:05

Well I am tired after a night shift, watching this has been keeping me going.
It seemed obvious that they would get rid of Frankie. Totally different behaviour. And that's all they go on.
They believed her a bit, but not enough.
Suspicions around Alexander.
He had to go.

It's completely ridiculous.
But I loved it anyway.

And the fact that Claudia seemed to be a bit overwhelmed by it all, I think she probably was.
She has to see what's going on.
And she is human!

They will need to change the format a lot to make it work in future series.

I'll watch the next one.

BoogieBox · 25/01/2025 10:07

Did anyone pick up on the fact that all Frankie had to do was say, "As a Seer, I did not have to disclose that I was a traitor. If I was a traitor, why would I tell her.?" Frankie should have just said, "Charlotte is a traitor. She knows I am a faithful, and she's lying"

PainthewholeworldwithaRainbow · 25/01/2025 10:08

What does Claudia say right at the beginning of the game ? Trust no one . The contestants should heed this advice. Trust no one but your gut feelings.
