Gregg your opinion on Dan's tomatoes is irrelevant.

Do you think Gregg notices that when he comments first Marcus often subtly disses his judgement, very clever, he doesn’t actually say you have palate of an extinct dinosaur you behaviourally challenged Neanderthal , but puts the message across all the same

Gregg: ooooh that’s a lot of tomato

Marcus : that tomato sauce really pulls the dish together.

Gregg : this is a dish of two halves

Marcus : this is a deliciously balanced plate of food.

❤Marcus

I'm another one who shouldn't have favourites. I liked Chloe and Gareth....don't much like Chiara. In yesterday's Times, Giles Coren (another arrogant little bellend who can't always contain his massive ego) wrote about auditioning to be co-presenter when they were resurrecting Masterchef in 2004. He doesn't call it an audition, of course; according to him they "bunged him a few grand" to consider it but he wasn't keen because he had just graciously agreed to be on The F-word "with Gordon Actual Ramsey." John Torode was already signed up and was present at a kind of mock-up of how the programme would look. GC refers to him dismissively as "a chubby Australian" who didn't respond or interact but was glum and monosyllabic as GC wafted around being witty and wonderful. He actually referenced Oscar Wilde. I infer that John Torode probably disliked him on sight but naturally that wouldn't occur to the wonder that is Giles Coren. When he was leaving, he was passed a noisy bald man on his way in, and when he inquired who he was, was told by the woman showing him off the premises that it was his competition. "A very different vibe" as she put it. Allegedly. It must stick in Coren's craw that he lost out to a crass, bald greengrocer, no matter how he has rationalised it to himself. I confess I spent more time than I should yesterday wondering which would have been the lesser of two evils.

That sounds a good read @Fransgran
Giles is such a smug, self satisfied git I can't think why they thought he might be a fit for the show. I was so glad he left got the boot? The Amazing Hotels gig. He was so disrespectful to workers like porters or waiters etc who took a real pride in their work and attention to detail, treating it all like a big joke and apparently learning nothing along the way. I have loved the latest series with Robert Rinder, and like the way they look at the wider aspects of the hotels and the local community that serves them. I wonder if Monica had had enough of him and maybe suggested it was time for a change?

OMG @ShamedBySiri

You've given men an idea.

Robert Rinder as a replacement for Gregggggg!

Words · 04/12/2024 11:24

Given me an idea, sorry!

Apologies if this appears twice as I tried to download on my phone and it disappeared into the ether. The kitchen is coming along. Another days worth of work I reckon and then the tiling (as shown). I have lost cupboard space to an undercounter 2nd freezer so I am playing cupboard jenga. It'll all be OK. I do need someone to come and show me how the new appliances work - me and written instructions do not get on.

PotterHead1985 · 05/12/2024 19:57

Evening all.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 05/12/2024 20:01

Chuffing in

GrouchyKiwi · 05/12/2024 20:01

Evening.

Even though it would mean there were no women in the finals I'd like Chiara to leave this time.

TheDogsMother · 05/12/2024 20:03

Not very sisterly of me but Chiara is v annoying.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 05/12/2024 20:04

Yep - chiara gives me too many “would run over own nonna to win” vibes

ilovesooty · 05/12/2024 20:04

Dan gets to work on his own.

PotterHead1985 · 05/12/2024 20:04

Not sure if I'm happy or not for Dan that he doesn't have to buddy up. If he had chloe I would have said yes
