Wrong shoes in my opinion, heels are better for a Latin routine. Someone wore flat shoes in a previous series and it was the same problem, flat footed, I think it might have been Fleur East.

Agree - why was she wearing trainers? Wear jazz shoes if Latin shoes too difficult for the tricks. No bounce action in trainers.

I don't dislike Tasha as a ringer or as a person, I'm just not excited by her.
I was excited by some of Layton's and I liked Ashley and Pasha's chemistry.
I just don't see it with her and Aljaz.

Tasha
cha cha 30 espresso
VW 35 misty blue
Rumba 34 barbie
Cowgirl selfie-stick Charleston 39
Tango 34 Florence and the machine
Frankenstein stiff samba 37
Bullying contempowaft 39
QS 37 fantasy
Paso 39 instrumental

They're all competent but none of them have had the X-factor for me, I really can't explain it. It might be I haven't loved any of the costumes or the music chosen, or Aljaz this year but it feels like something's missing. Not unhappy she's still in but nor does she have me rooting for her.

I feel the same. She’s clearly a good dancer but just leaves me feeling flat. She needs a bit of oomph.

Danny La Rue used to come to our Sunday catholic mass whenever he was performing nearby. Never attended in drag, but always dressed to the nines. He GLEAMED.

Oh wow I'd love to have met him. I loved him growing up.

I don’t want Montell to be out because I bloody love Johannes ❤️ He’s such a beautiful elegant dancer. Anyone else?

You could do a great Quickstep to 'Love Cats'.

That's one of my fantasy dances for when I get the call from Strictly (like as if).

Chris and Dianne were fantastic; proper music, proper clobber, classy routine. His footwork looked clean to me and his timing is impeccable. I thought he'd plateaued, but turns out he just needed a good routine.
Montell was quite good, but needed heels so she looked like a proper diva. I don't like disco salsas either. I'm a bit worried for them, getting the death slot and being middle-ish of the board.
Wynne was fairly shite. He's reached his limit. I love Katya but it's time he went.
Sarah did not get the spirit of Fosse at all, which I think is what Craig meant by 'too perfect'; there should be a slight feeling of unease and something a bit arch/grotesque. Vito captured it but not Sarah.
JB: terrible song for a QS. And like a pp, I wish they'd stop giving Lauren hair bows, like we don't realise she's a lady because she hasn't got long hair Hmm
Tasha was good and I liked the lyrical style of paso. But she always looks to me like she's just turning in a number, very workmanlike. She's highly competent but IMO doesn't have that extra spark.
Pete: God love him for sheer gameness, but he wasn't brilliant was he? And they should be ashamed to be treating and dressing him like that and Shirley needs someone to have serious words. If it was a woman sleb and a male judge there'd (rightly) be uproar. I will say I loved the pink pimp coat though.
Jamie was OK but I just cannot make myself like him that much or enjoy watching him. It felt like desperate reaching for a theme, too; why has he become Blackpool fish and chips guy? He made like one comment about having chips at Blackpool. The ketchup song and bottle were just stupid. They seem to think we're all three or something.

I'm really cross with Strictly this week. It's the most infantilised I've ever felt watching it (which is saying something), and it was simultaneously inappropriately sexualised and quite icky. And bollocks to the shoehorned-in cross-promotional drag queens.

MarkWithaC · 17/11/2024 15:52

Also meant to say Vito in his glasses: hubba hubba.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 17/11/2024 15:56

this is exactly it! As if we don’t have bright colours and loud noises and familiar music we’ll get bored and wander off like toddlers

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 17/11/2024 15:58

Watching now, horrible theming and wardrobe for Montell

I totally agree with every single thing you say!

I'm on the app so I can't do a 'thanks'

Watching Wynne and Katya, she's doing all the hard work

BogRollBOGOF · 17/11/2024 16:40

Katya's definitely hit the "use your celeb as a maypole" stage- and has for a few weeks. Wynne's at his limit.

Chris seems years younger than at the start. His whole posture is just lighter an perkier. I'm glad he's had a good week. He's enjoyable to watch week in, week out.

I think Montell's trainers did her no favours. Female celebs always feel flatter in them and can't carry them off like the pros. She got a blind vote from me as I was watching on delay and only caught turned on as voting started, so I voted on who I enjoy and want to see again.

I did laugh through Pete's. Possibly slightly manically 😂 Sometimes memorable is not a good thing...

JB & Jamie were very competent. And Tash professionally done as usual. Her grimmace was a bit awkward at times rather than feeling intense and fierce. One of her more interesting dances though.

Sarah, I'm glad it wasn't contempowaft. I prefered Helen Skelton's "fuck you ex" vibes a couple of years ago though.

It's still feeling very open in the next few weeks. There's a lot of potential DO combinations that would be hard to call.

TheShellBeach · 17/11/2024 16:44

Let's hope Pete isn't in the DO, so we don't have to see those trousers again.
🤣

FagsMagsandBags · 17/11/2024 16:48

I'd be surprised if Tasha isn't in the final because despite me finding her uninspiring she is a good dancer which is handy given she's professional. I'd be really surprised if she won but she deserves a final place based on her dancing.

I love MoJo. Their chemistry makes me smile and I think she's really good. Not so much this week. I'd love to see her in the final but will be surprised if she makes it which is a huge shame because she may well be my favourite. I'd like us to see Jamie, Pete and Wynne going in the next few weeks and would like the remaining women to stay for as long as possible.

Tasha is a classic example of 'ringer kept in by the judges but crashes out when faced with the pure public vote.'
I think the final will be her, Chris and Sarah. Or are they aiming for four finalists?

Ellmau · 17/11/2024 17:31

I think it should be four unless anyone has to drop out.

Taha and Chris for sure, for polar opposite reasons, and I think the other two places are open. I'd like Sarah and Montell but wouldn't be too upset by JB and/or Jamie in there.

I would be very put out if either Wynne or Pete make it that far.

It's been 4 finalists since I've watched Strictly from 2017 bar years when contestants have had to withdraw due to injury or other personal reasons.

TheShellBeach · 17/11/2024 17:38

They always aim for four finalists.

dapsnotplimsolls · 17/11/2024 17:45

I'm assuming the final will be Tash, Chris, Sarah and Montell or JB. Possibly Jamie in the mix too but the judges seem to have gone off him. If Pete gets to the final, I will be fummin'

ilovesooty · 17/11/2024 17:49

I think Tash, Chris and Sarah will be in the final. The fourth place is more difficult to call.

MainStreetOrHighStreet · 17/11/2024 17:57

I’ve been thinking about the trousers. It was the lack of containment, and the way the light hit the surface of them. They keep popping into my mind.
