I've always wondered, do they actually legally get married? Or do they have to act as if they do?

No they don't.

In the uk one now they do not marry.

But they did in the first few, you saw them go to the registrar and learning their partners names.

USA they marry (generally only 3 or 4 couples per season)

I must admit, that I do feel sorry for Alex as the conversation about swapping is going to come back and bite him on the bum. And now he has got to see all the other brides, he can see he got one of the best!

Re Ross being single since 2021- it says in his bio that his daughter id three (could be 4 now) so it looks as if he stopped dating after splitting from his daughter's mum.

All caught up now. Wondering what a compilation of all the next show previews would look like?

Ross & Sasha - They seem to be getting on okay, but it feels a bit like he's putting on a big act for her. We'll see.

Alex & Holly - They both seem to get into an argument very quickly. I would find that intolerable.

Adam & Polly - She's obviously feeling very insecure which isn't helping, but he's been a complete arse. Putting to one side the lack of attraction and what he's said and done about it, I just don't think he's a nice person. I hope she walks away soon.

Orson & Richelle - I can't see what Orson is doing wrong, but it's certainly not working for Richelle, and he seemed to be completely oblivious. This might be one where the talk with the experts is actually illuminating.

Wonder how many new couples they will have to introduce to pick up the wreckage from the first batch?

I'm a wedding registrar and I can confirm in the UK MAFS they are most definitely NOT legally married. In England, the law requires both parties give notice a minimum of 28 days in advance (so full names and details must be given, so people would clearly need to know each other), and the venues that are being filmed are quite often not legally licensed for marriage. What you see on screen is a celebrant (not a legal registrar) giving a performance of a ceremony that is similar to a legal civil ceremony and using similar words and a similar script. Crucially however, the legal words requires are not spoken. In England, marriage is VERBAL contract, so it is the saying of the legal words and declaration that makes a couple married. In MAFS these words are not said. (Apart from series 1 which was legal and filmed partly at Westminster registry office). But now it's all a load of make believe tosh and no one is actually married, and consequently why no one actually needs to go
through a legal divorce afterwards. Still love it though!

I really feel for Polly. The editing was so stark when she was tolerating him saying for the umpteenth time the attraction wasn’t there and it cut to her on the couch talking about how she gives and gives without realising when it’s time to leave. It’s obvious to everyone watching that was the point she should have up and left.
He’s never going to find her attractive and that’s not a slight on her! He has an overinflated ego and seems to be under the impression that he can put an order in for his imaginings of a ‘perfect woman’. The likes of which, if she exists, wouldn’t look twice at him anyway! Maybe he knows that and he’s gone on this show to up his profile in the hopes of attracting the unobtainable?

I can’t work out how I feel about Orson and Richelle! She’s cold and I was leaning to his side until that last scene where she said he didn’t know her as he hadn’t asked her anything about herself. That was not the time to ask a question relating to him!!!

I like Sacha and Ross. It’s lovely to see her communicate with Ross. You can see her properly enunciating her speech for him. If he’s being genuine and not just acting how he thinks she wants he seems like a lovely guy as well.

Not sure about Holly and Alex… outside of the experiment their lives are going to be very different. He’s also never going to live down those comments at the stag do!

I saw Eve at the trailer for tonight’s but didn’t spot Charlie, I wonder if she’s there!

I’ve just caught up and pretty sure I saw Charlie next to Eve at the dinner table.

Not read all the threads but this is my second MAFS and it’s a massive disappointment after watching the Aussie one.

I don’t see any of the couples working out TBH, but one particularly stands out to me.

Adam and Polly.

I’d love to see Adam get a massive dressing down. On what unholy planet does Adam, with his stupid tats, Turkey Teeth, tan, his dull personality, his lack of humility, lack of intelligence and basin haircut, think he’s ever going to pull a hot, petit, brunette?

Adam, you’re not even a “4”, you’re a “2” and I’m being generous. Guess what Adam, you are a bit of a chubber yourself and your medieval haircut accentuates your chipmunk face.

I’m sick of seeing deluded men on reality TV, and in real life, who think they deserve better than the woman in front of them who is totally out of their league in the first place.

Polly is beautiful, intelligent and funny. I just wish she’d turn around and tell him to F*Off.

Honestly Adam, no hot brunette is going to come along. No Michelle Keagan or Maya. You don’t have the goods mate.

Also, that other knob Casper. He’s well punching above his weight with his wife (can’t remember her name). She’s got the full package and deserves someone much better than him.

I think both Casper and Adam have been watching too many movies and too many Tik Tock clips (or porn) with augmented, tweaked, photoshopped young ladies. Chuck in a bit of Andrew Tate, and you have a couple of 30 something losers who think they can bag a 10, but actually can’t even pull a pint.

I obviously have some weird thing with eyes, as Alex' eyes are exactly like Jay Blades.

Re Orson and Richelle - she is pretty uncompromising and I do wonder about ND and also why she is on this show when she so clearly would never be comfortable with having someone chosen for her, but I'd also be pretty wary of someone telling me he had feelings for me very shortly after meeting me without showing any real interest in me as a person, and if I knew he was an actor.
