Can’t see another thread on this so sorry if I’ve missed it, but I surely can’t be the only sad sack unduly excited that MAFS is back later this month?!

I see a scandal has kicked off before it’s even started due to one of the contestants allegedly being a domestic abuser 😱

Anyone want to join a discussion thread for when the series starts on 16th? 🙌

What have you been listening to, @Appalonia? I love the MAFS podcasts.

Lara on Eyre does interviews. Her podcast is also v funny. She was a contestant a few years ago. It's on Spotify

CuttySarcasm · 17/09/2024 22:07

Looking at tomorrow, I could tell Caspar/Jasper (can't remember, the posh boy) wasn't feeling it from the moment he saw her. He's slightly over weight, but for some reason he can't find a woman attractive, if she is slightly over weight.

He's not even trying. I feel so sorry for her, it'll go the same way they always go, he'll say 'the friendship needs to grow' and weeks later he'll still not have changed his mind, and he'll bin her off. Poor woman.

Thisismetooaswell · 17/09/2024 22:09

MAFS?

Villagetoraiseachild · 17/09/2024 22:10

I actually think Lacey is just as attractive as her sister.
They just have a different aesthetic.
It's obviously her big wound though.

ThatsCute · 17/09/2024 22:11

Some of Charlie’s expressions are giving off Drew Barrymore vibes.

Villagetoraiseachild · 17/09/2024 22:12

I bet Caspar/Emma will be the first to bail out of the show.

Lalgarh · 17/09/2024 22:12

And we've not even had the coercive controling Deserting Airman yet

I thought that in the end. She seemed to get more attractive as the episode went on. I think Nathan was genuine that he didn’t think her twin was prettier.

dapsnotplimsolls · 17/09/2024 22:14

Oh dear Lord, just seen a pic of Lacey on twitter in that yellow ... thing.

Pantaloons99 · 17/09/2024 22:17

Casper is coming across badly. When he had his 5 year old strop with his sister at his wedding reception. He seems like he's stalled at childhood somewhere in his development.

Lacey and her husband seem a good match. I think he genuinely just didn't know how to say the right thing and it looked bad comparef to his reaction to her twin. Really hoping these two work out!

Marcipex · 17/09/2024 22:17

I don’t know if I should look.

TitsInAbsentia · 17/09/2024 22:18

Looks like we'll definitely have no problem working out why Caspar is single from that trailer!

Lalgarh · 17/09/2024 22:19

Is he going to ghost her

dxd27 · 17/09/2024 22:22

Charlie is just wayyyy too much all at once!

Yea that was odd, his sister was giving what came across as normal advice and he just jumped down her throat in a strop! He's coming across as a twat already.

dapsnotplimsolls · 17/09/2024 22:25

Charlie coming across as a wee bit needy in that trailer.

dapsnotplimsolls · 17/09/2024 22:27

Bit of a tricky situation possibly for Caspar - Emma thinks he won't touch her because she's 'too fat' but can he actually say, 'No, it's because you remind me of my sister'?!

bumblenbean · 17/09/2024 22:29

FFS Casper’s not exactly an Adonis himself 🤨

I have to do catch up as my tv date is at 9pm every night. I really like Eve who seems completely down to earth. Not sure if she's well matched with Charlie who is annoying. The first couple, dunno. Too much whining from the woman and the man needs to marry himself. Not got to the weddings yet.

SecondDesk · 17/09/2024 22:32

Casper's sister was overbearing and smug. I'm getting golden child vibes from her. Emma and her laugh are too similar for him to overcome the ick. Both of the first couples are good on paper.

Lacey's sister is more conventionally attractive. I can understand pairing her with a. Person with ADHD is a good idea. I worry that her needs will come second to her new partner's.

All this big personality stuff is absolute horseshit. They ara overground self-centred toddlers, with little self-awareness and control. That loud, just saying it like it is type are so very boring.

bookwormcrazy · 17/09/2024 22:33

Wow! The trailer for tomorrow... that didn't take long for Eve and Charlie to come back down to earth! And Casper!!

Oh I love that podcast. I also listen to Chris and Dave - "They're a fucking bellend" is probably said every five minutes, but they are very funny. Just a couple of middle aged northern men who love reality TV.

chickenlettuceunderbacon · 17/09/2024 22:37

Just joining to say that Paige has been a contestant on Dress to Impress not once but twice. The mother and Lacey were also involved for one of the episodes. It's fair to say I'm already over them. To be frank, it's little bit boring that these reality programmes are casting from the same groups of people.

Nogaxeh · 17/09/2024 22:39

The thing is - and I know this isn't kind - but Lacey isn't as good-looking as her twin sister. She's always going to be upset if she judges her self-worth by the standard of people denying that evident truth.

Although. Nathan made a much worse impression than clown-boy. I don't know anything about ADHD, and I can understand getting distracted, but surely, surely, you return to the heart-rending opening-up from your new wife and say something about her experience with car crashes?

Charlie - "I'm in lurve!"
Eve - "I don't believe anyone could say they were in love for ages."
Argh. Trouble.
