I see a scandal has kicked off before it’s even started due to one of the contestants allegedly being a domestic abuser 😱

That sounds distinctly possible. Deflection through laughs. They currently seem more promising than pseudo incest twosome though.

Was it Casper that ended up with the woman who's like using twin sister? I thought he got on much better with her sister which is a shame, as we all know siblings don't always get along so I think their relationship is doomed.

It's great for me because the streaming as live never worked properly, so I can stream it earlier in the evening rather than afterwards or the next day.

But there seems to be a strong view on the thread that people shouldn't spoil it for those watching the live broadcast.

I’m getting bad vibes from Caspar, but his sister is bloody irritating - he can’t help it if the initial spark isn’t there and she seems more invested than he is. It does seem there’s some serious ‘issues’ brewing between those twins, all a little ominous …

I agree he has the ick already, though he seems to have quite a high opinion of himself. It’s also a little weird that neither of them have EVER had a relationship?!

Clown man is growing on me (slightly) although the teeth thing was just so cringe. His wife is coming across as one of those ‘I’m mad me!’ types … but they seem a good match so far.

from the other contestants- I think the guy who was talking abut wife swapping is the one someone has accused of being abusive but I might be wrong. We didn’t hear much from the others so time will tell!

The ixperts are, as ever, scraping the barrel for reasons people are ‘compatible’. Usually it’s something like ‘they both have a dog - lock it in!!’ or ‘they both live within 100 miles of London - this could be our best match yet’. This time they said something like ‘she’s also really kind and caring which is a trait he really values’ - doesn’t everyone?! 😂The mental gymnastics are hilarious.

Let’s just hope the guy paired with the woman with kids isn’t averse to the step dad role- this seems to be a basic criteria they never actually check before pairing them up …

I'm really looking forward to it. I birmallwait until it's a few episodes in and then have a catch up.

If I can't watch it live I tend to catch up the next day having avoided the thread, and read the commentary here as I watch. As the funnies definitely improve the experience.

It is unusual how many of them have NEVER had any relationship by 30s. Do yous reckon some of them say that just so as not to have to discuss exes on TV?

The guy who talked about wife swapping is the one accused of coercive control and also deserted the army to go on the show. He then went back and got out in army jail for a month and is out again. Things move fast in MAFland. Not sure what all this means for the show!

Well that was pretty good for a starter, seems quite a rapid pace (did we always have two weddings in the first episode?!). I think Kristina could be growing on me she just needs to tone done the squeak...when she came in to the wedding party she sounded like a party blower

I think Kristina will burn out with it relatively soon, I'm not sure she'll handle the dinner parties and any conflict with clown guy for long. Plus they both seem very attached to families for the distance.

Caspar can't pull this back. He can't exactly go on to have a rip roaring sex life with Emma after telling the public she looks like his sister. Wife swap?

I think it's always been two couples per episode. I was glad not to do the family announcements. Waste of time.

Just caught up. What a great first show. Poor Emma! Poor Caspar! Of all the things that could happen, bet he never imagined that one. The producers must have been absolutely gleeful when they discovered his problematic sister's doppelganger. I quite like the other two..they seem quite similar and true to themselves...though geographically challenged. Totally hooked already. See you all tonight!!
