So, currently broadcast (and just caught up with) Friday 2nd August. Recap:

Lauren - given birth to baby boy at 24 weeks after Joel hid labour inducing drugs in her soup
Jack - been charged with arson with intent to endanger life (Hope seemed pleased!)
Paul - going to donate his corneas to MND research, much to Bernie's dismay
Beth - lost box of fake t-shirts and told Carla where to stuff her job

What else?

I'd say Fizz is having Tyrone's baby...so they have a joint baby.

What's supposed to be wrong with Swain? Is she ill? Or do we not know yet?

Maybe she's having a breakdown because she's realised how totally useless she is at her job. 🤷‍♀️

Omg I’m sick of repeating myself. Why do fizz and Tyrone plead poverty when they have two good full time jobs and are mortgage free? It annoys me so much that they havent modernised their house like most young couples and they never have a penny between them.

Someone help me figure out what has changed with Dee Dee the last few months.
She's gone all glamorous and voluptuous and pretty but it feels like every scene is a focus on her being pretty?
Has she lost weight? Her character is different too.

Nothing against her but feels like she a different character to last year?

Tyrone had a very snazzy shirt. Probably made by Fizz. I don't know why they are always skint.

I think Dee Dee has lost a fair bit of weight. She has a great figure

It's not that her boobs looked ridiculous as such. Well they did, but that's not a reflection on her. Just the decision to hoik them up under her chin, which I'm pretty sure ICU wouldn't have done. I'd be amazed if someone in that situation IRL had a bra on at all.

I think she always looks beautiful. She’s always dressed well, but I agree, her style has changed recently. Lots of us change our style from time to time though don’t we? - especially at the start of a new season though, so not strange. I can’t decide if she has been wearing shapewear, or even a corset recently. She’s developed a hell of a waist 😮

So do we think Adam is going to steal the money he will likely go off and find after he listened to the voicemail or give it to Sarah?

Her figure is magnificent. I didn’t like all the flapping around in the cafe last night. She was strutting around like Tina Turner.

Why did they have to give poor Bethany such a complex health issue. Surely she could have had a bad nose job which the amazing plastic surgeon who sorted Ryan could fix. Followed by some journalism somewhere.

Yes I agree, Adam will take the money and not tell Sarah where it's from, so he looks like a hero for providing it.

So, this 500 quid Adam donated... is that the illicit riches Damon left in a lock up or is that Adams actual donation, and he hasn't yet got his paws on Damons cash. I agree, if its not then he is going to pretend he's come up with this cash, of course he is.. he can't let Damon look good!

If it IS though, he's hardly going to win Sarah back with a measly 500 quid!

Whats up with both DeeDee feeling really dizzy and Swain being ill/pukey etc... has Joel somehow poisoned them both?

Fizz being up the duff is just ridic, where are they going to fit another person in that house?

I thought it sounded as if Damon had serious £££ is his lock up. £500 is a drop in the ocean so that can't be it?

Are Ty and Fiz going to decide they really really do want a baby, and then lose it? Surely they are not going to put us through a Fiz pregnancy.😫

You’d think the producers would notice they were making her look a bit strange and cover them up or something. It looked so strange it was obviously going to get people’s attention. And draw away from the plot.

I think stomas have become more “in the news” lately with Adele having one on dancing on ice etc. If they do this properly it could be good. Many people live perfectly normal lives with a stoma. But lots of people, especially women, are devastated if they have to have one. My friend was supposed to have one when she had cancer and she was distraught, just like Bethany was.

Cassie - where? Are she and Evelyn topping and tailing? Or sleeping in shifts?

Where on earth will they fit a new baby?

And yes - why are Fiz and Tyrone always pleading poverty? Even if they're only earning minimum wage, with no mortgage to worry about, and presumably Evelyn contributing to household expenses, they cannot be broke.

Plus just like Gemma and Chesney with the quads and Joseph, I’m sure they’d be getting child benefit for Hope and Ruby

@HurdyGurdy19 Ty and Fizz had the loft extended ten years ago (by Jason I think). But it went wrong and someone went through the ceiling - of course they did, it's Corrie. So I don't know if it was completed or abandoned. I expect for the purposes of plot it was invisibly completed!

I vaguely remember Fiz and Ty being in enormous debt a few years ago and something about selling stuff from their back yard. Then a few weeks later it stopped being mentioned and they were back to normal....I think.

I had a stoma for a few years, yes, it saved my life but it was awful it leaked every day, I stopped going out and doing things for fear of it leaking, I cried every day, thankfully I got it reversed. I hope they do this well.

@DaisyStarburst I hope all is well now. I have a friend who has surgery scheduled which might result in a stoma.
Corrie likes a major surgical intervention but aren't great at the long term consequences.

My friend has a permanent stoma, he's had it for over 30 years and seems to manage it very well, it doesn't stop him doing anything. Before he had it, he was often incapacitated (Crohns), so it seems a very positive thing to him. It's a sudden shock to Bethany so a different situation.

It would be great if they do this storyline well but I'm not hopeful. But Paul's storyline was mostly well done, a lot better than most Corrie health issues so fingers crossed. They can never resist adding unnecessary drama though, like the current funeral nonsense.
