So, currently broadcast (and just caught up with) Friday 2nd August. Recap:

Lauren - given birth to baby boy at 24 weeks after Joel hid labour inducing drugs in her soup
Jack - been charged with arson with intent to endanger life (Hope seemed pleased!)
Paul - going to donate his corneas to MND research, much to Bernie's dismay
Beth - lost box of fake t-shirts and told Carla where to stuff her job

But why would that make him cry so much? He’s just tried to kill the baby., Why would it’s name matter?

That dc Swaine isn’t much cop is she? It keeps her awake at night yet she’s still no further on. I hate how Joel is getting under Kaurens skin. I really thought when he said he didn’t want to be on the birth certificate she pressed record on her phone. Or maybe she sent the email after all?

That Kit what’s his end game? Why’s he got it in for our Craigy? I didn’t want him to be a baddy.

I guess it made the baby real. Made him realise what he tried to do. IDK. Emotions are weird.

So Joel now knows Betsy is DCI Swain's daughter, what's he going to do? (I like the Betsy character/actress). I think he does love DeeDee and is living his 2-lives quite separately. A proper psycho! Just hope they don't drag the story out for too long now, I'm hoping Swain/Betsy/Max solve it soon.

Hope & Jack - fire starters together 🔥 Hope is very keen on him 🥰 Loved Evelyn's comment about Sam's poor little head spinning.

Kit really is a bent copper then. Not sure where he will take us.

I vaguely remember Tyrone having another child …the mum died . Was it Jack?

Tyrone thought Jack was his when he was born...but mollie had been having an affair with Kevin.....and he was Kevin's son millie died in the tram crash

I was hoping Kit was a good guy! Unless he's working under cover. And I seem to remember Craigie was unpleasant to him when they first met, so he's possibly hoping to get his own back.

I really hope Lauren is playing Joel and the text gets sent.

So, do we have any theories as to how Joel is going to be discovered?

I wonder if Max will be involved, and will work out that there is no "mate" of Lauren's who locked her inside the flat. Then somehow work out that Joel is involved.

Or will DeeDee find Joel's search history on his laptop, where he searched for what drugs would bring on labour, and put two and two together?

Or is someone going to find the drug packaging and somehow link it to Joel?

I wondered a few weeks ago, when DeeDee was talking to Joel's parents and they said that he had distanced himself from them about a year ago, if it was going to come out that he was being blackmailed around the trafficking and that he would become a reformed character.

But now that he's tried to make Lauren have a stillbirth, I think that bridge has been burned, and he has to face the consequences.

I hope Kit catches Joel and becomes a good guy. Or that Spider returns and solves everything and looks after Toyah and everything is lovely by Christmas. Spider really needs to sort out The Institute.

I only watched a few minutes of last night's episode, I can't stand any more Joel-Lauren scenes.

Why a detective would want to cash in on dodgy t-shirts I have no idea. Surely he has access to more financially rewarding options!

I did like Hope telling Sam that no he couldn't say it was mutual. Very Hope!

Last watched Corrie 4 years ago when Gemma was giving birth in the cable car, went to Llandudno last month to ride in those cable cars, was quite scary lol.
